If you live in Florida or southern California, there's probably not a day that goes by where you don't see a Porsche 911. While they're more rare in the New York Tri-State region where I am located, they're pretty popular in the right places.
The real beauty of Porsche is how it provides the buyer of any of its products the chance to really make their vehicle their own. Some would also say it's a curse as options can run quite expensive if you're not careful. But for those of us who want something properly unique, then it's a remarkable chance to make something truly one-of-a-kind.
And that's exactly what one buyer did.
Agent 001 passed along a link recently of a Porsche 911 seen on eBay Motors. Though he thought it was the color of his Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary — Anvil Gray — it's actually a lighter flat gray. As stated in the post, the seller claims it's "Fashion Gray" but who knows where it came from as it's a "Paint to Sample" car. The buyer could have found this color anywhere.
But if you ask this writer, it appears to be a color that was popular with vintage autos from the 1950s and 1960s. That period was full of pastels.
Given the choice of car, it's a real throwback.
BUT, I am a bit curious.
If afforded the opportunity, would you go this far with a Porsche 911? You know, load it up with around $50,000 in options and do the paint to sample program?
