How Long Will This Last? Cadillac To Bring Entire Line To Europe Including Gargantuan Escalade
At the Geneva Auto Show, Cadillac announced the first elements of its future growth strategy for Europe, which focuses on product expansion and customer satisfaction.

The carmaker says its European growth strategy is based on three main pillars: a full-line premium car portfolio that will continuously expand, a distinguished brand positioning with a strong focus on excellent customer focus, and a dedicated European “Start-up” Cadillac team that will focus on the implementation of innovative urban automotive experiences.

I love how people hate so much on the Escalade but the truth is.. its a pretty important vehicle. Mine was new in 2008 and well over 115,000 miles now and hardly anything but oil changes and regular maintenance has been needed.. they get the job done and I guess over seas realizes that also.

Many of us who read Autospies would perhaps never buy a Cadillac, but for quite a large segment of the population, the line signifies quality, a distinctive appearance, refinement, innovation, and even sportiness.

There will be logistical challenges selling the Escalade in some parts of Europe (due to tight parking and narrow streets) and they are not the most fuel efficient vehicles in a region where gas sells for about $8 - $10 per gallon. That being said, rich people like the statement made by the Escalade and other Cadillac products. Like the previous commenter said, they are a quality, distinctive product.

GM is making a wise decision...if you don't try, you won't know if you would have succeeded. Best strategy is a premium strategy.

Go For it Caddy, Why not go on the offensive in Europe, just as the Europeans have done in the America.

Best of Luck

I think Cadillac will need all the luck it can handle. It doesn't have the infrastructure nor past models that it can refer to. And the reputation it has is not current (as European is not familiar with positive reviews of current Cadillac) so it only has past images of Cadillac and those are not flattering. I'd love to see the Marketing budget GM has set aside for Cadillac in Europe.
