I still can't tell an A4 from an A6 on the road.

Does Audi even make 17 models, do you need to divide by 3, 4 or 5 to get to true model count.
I know everyone counts like this (sedan, coupe, hatchback, convertible, performance version, hybrid, electric, etc)

The A4 is "four" models A4, A4 quattro, S4, RS4 so it adds up pretty quickly in their creative math equation

Audi is like a new Volkswagen. Or should I say they both are pretty much the same thing?

On the other hand, Lexus, is a real luxury brand. I don't want to see tons of cheap models when I go into a luxury car dealership.

The number of "models" is deceiving. Audi likes to say it currently has 48 or 49 "models" and will expand that number to 60 "models" by 2020.

What MattDaringer said was correct. The A4 is 4 different models. That's just the A4. If you do the same for the A3, A5, A6, A7, A8, R8, Q5, Q7 and TT not to mention sportback variants the number of "models" rises significantly.
