The VERDICT Is In: 00R's FAVORITE Sibling Decides To Get A...
You didn't think I'd give away that easily, did you?

Nope. Not gonna happen.

After spending a day on car lots and speaking with dealership professionals, my beloved sister and her fiancé have come to a decision. If you don't recall, my sister is looking for car that will be a weekend ride specifically with the intention of being utilized as a car around town. So, it's not a daily. Merely something to go get groceries and an occasional trip up north now and again.

We visited BMW, Lexus, Infiniti, Maserati — a local dealer had a Ferrari F40 in stock — and Ford. Although the Audi was the car that she initially wanted, after discussing the A4's pros and cons it was clear she didn't even want to take the time to check it out.

Drumroll please...

And the winner is, a 2014 Lexus IS250 AWD.

Though we all know the IS has a tight cockpit, it actually turned out to be my sister's favorite. In addition, she thought the car had sexy and eye catching exterior design. It doesn't hurt that Lexus is running a pretty decent deal on the IS either.

So, there you have it.

Forgive me but wow, the worst car of the lot, even consumer reports hates this car. As long as she is happy and love the car thats what counts most, she should have trouble free driving though.

Only the Europe worshippers would think the car is the worst car of the lot.

In fact, the best one is indeed Lexus IS. Only the Europe worshippers would try so hard desperately to try to defend that boring design of BMW 3 series and Audi A4.

Consumer reports likes boring yet practical cars, this Lexus is actually pretty fun to drive (yes I know that statement sounds weird) even though it lacks power. It seems to be doing well in terms of other reviews and sales seem strong too compared to the last gen.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but there's several retorts for you, @Scenic:

1) Worst car by YOUR standards and expectations.

2) Lexus is back at the top of reliability studies.

3) It fits her needs as a weekend driver, has a good deal and is attractive in her eyes.

As they say in the auto biz, there's an ass for every seat.

Hate to admit, Agent00R, but you and I agree on this case.

Congrats on making the smartest decision on the purchase.

Not only does the new IS have such a revolutionary exterior design, it is most likely the most attractive one in the segment, and not only that, it is the leader in terms of reliability. Junk makers like BMW, Audi and Merc can try for years and decades, they can never touch Lexus in terms of reliability.

The Europe worshippers are just now getting so desperate, as Lexus is getting all aggressive in terms of performance and design, so is Infiniti (I think Eau Rouge is just too much for the Germans, as they do not know how to build a GT-R killer even to this very day), they have no choice, but to defend those dull, boring looking 3 series and A4. And I think the new C class is the funniest of the lot, as the front of the exterior design is pretty much the same as the new S class. I am assuming that, people will get tired of looking at the new S class real quick all thanks to the new C class (There are more C class than Toyota Corollas in my area)

On the other hand, the new IS successfully differentiates itself apart from LS, and you can practically just tell the new IS is a "real" sports sedan, whereas the LS actually looks like a sedan for the executives.

Anyway, she made the right choice. Once again, congrats!

Thank you, @JDMUSMuscle.

Surprisingly, we are agreeing on a post.

Revolutionary design? It's a mutated Audi face. Pinch the Audi grille in and droop the LEDs down from the from the headlight housing to the top of the bumper.

Glad she made the choice that was right for her. At the end of the day that's all that matters. Hope she has many years of enjoyment with it.

Is she ready to endure being laughed at on the road. Lexus has to run aggressive deals on a brand new design. No one is buying them because of that terrible face.

I saw that F40 at the dealership you're referring to - $1.5 Million!

Agent00R - please tell us more about WHY she chose this car? Was it because it was totally the car she wanted, or she got a good deal, or in comparison the performance was outstanding... what was the reason. I few years ago I looked at E Class/5 Series/A6 Quattro and I wanted the E, but got the A6 because of the Quattro and the amazing deal I got on it. "The Deal" can make a sale even if the car isn't the 1st choice. BTW: The A6 turned out to probably be my favorite car I've ever had, next to the ATS 3.6...

Well, she liked it. And seems like she did get a good deal on it, and in terms of performance, IS simply is far superior to the new 3 series, A4 and C class. Not to mention the new IS is also visually gorgeous, and the most beautiful car in the segment.

So, no wonder she picked it ;)

What are you basing the performance superiority on?

The IS 250 AWD has the LEAST performance of any vehicle in her list - that was obviously not why she picked it...
