Hyundai Restates Sonata Mileage Ratings- Apologizes For Error The Second Time
Hyundai Motor Co. said today the fuel economy of its revamped Sonata sedan was less than it had previously stated, an error that could further undermine the South Korean automaker's reliability after a slew of mileage-related lawsuits.

Unveiling the redesigned model to the media earlier this month, Hyundai told reporters the sedan's fuel economy had climbed 6 percent to 12.6 kilometers per liter (29.6 mpg) from its predecessor.

Hyundai, however, said today that figure was erroneous and had been based on tests at its research center. Government tests showed the mileage had actually inched up just 2 percent to 12.1 kilometers per liter (28.5 mpg).

Not that Hyundai is the only car company that has to go through "corrections" and "embarrassing situations" such as this but this is why I think 009's constant declaration of how Hyundai/Kia is going to shake up the likes of MB, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Cadillac is really premature.

You'd think they would be smarter and state the proper numbers. Of course the gov't is going to test the vehicle after they were caught cheating.

They're only sorry that they got caught again.

Hope Hyundai shakes off this bad characteristic of lying and cheating pretty quick. Unless, they're m uslim, off course! Speaking of lying and cheating and the recent disappearance of Malaysian 370-just Google "Why do m uslims Lie" and you'll find they're allowed to lie and cheat to those who are not m uslim. Hope Hyundai quits these traits.
