Honda Says It Will Win In F-1 With Less Pit Stops - Don't You Think The Competition Has Already Thought About That?
After a seven-year hiatus, Honda Motor Co. is returning to the F-1 circuits next year, resolving to win more races - and learn how to build "greener" cars.

Honda is particularly aiming to turn exhaust gas that is mostly wasted in F-1 or conventional cars into energy. It is technology that Honda's F-1 chief, Yasuhisa Arai, says could give Honda an edge with its mass-market cars.

Uh, that would be "fewer" pit stops.

Don't waste your time Autospies readers. This is another one of 009's headline manipulation threads.

The post, if you want to read it, states that Honda wants to use technology from its partnership with McLaren, starting next year, to give it an efficiency boost over manufacturers in the mass car market.

p.s.

All F1 cars are required to make at least one stop to change tires because they carry all the fuel for the race on-board the car, from the start.

At this point, the only way Honda could give McLaren an advantage is if they designed an engine that produced a smoother torque curve, i.e. more driveable, that allowed engineers to design a car that was drastically easier on tires while still getting the tire temperatures stable enough for maximum grip, for the longest period.
