VIDEO: Consumer Reports Names Its Top Midsize SUVs — WHICH Would YOU Pick And WHY?
As of late, Consumer Reports has been a tricky publication to follow. As I've pointed out in previous stories, the company was on the right track in terms of giving thoughtful reviews.

Hell, a lot of the time I even found myself agreeing with them!

Recently though there's been a flurry of short videos essentially producing quick picks if you're looking in a particular class of products. The first couple I've seen were, frankly, way off the mark.

Let's see if the third is a charm.

Their picks:

- Ford Flex
- Chevrolet Traverse
- Dodge Durango
- Jeep Grand Cherokee
- Hyundai Sante Fe
- Toyota Highlander

What say YOU, Spies? Is CR on the mark or off? Would YOU want ANY of these?

We help you sort through your choices, whether you are looking for tons of room, good mileage, towing capacity or off-road ability.

The new Highlander is easily the best of those vehicles. Quality, value, usability. Also the 2014 is something of a looker in my opinion. The Santa Fe is next and has a nice 290hp V6 as an option. Honestly the others I wouldn't consider for a second in comparison to these two, unless you plan on beating the hell out of your car off-road all the time in which case may as well go with a Jeep or Chevy that might be cheaper to repair.

I agree on the Highlander. Looks great, IMHO.

But I'd probably go with the Jeep. Great SUV and tough as nails.

I guess with regards to whether the list is a good one, I suppose it's alright but not great. I think the Ford Edge is sweeter than the hideous Flex and the Durango belongs on no list. The Honda Pilot probably deserves a spot over those two, as boring as it is it's no worse looking than a Flex.

I like the Ford Flex looks, it needs to be customized a bit though, make the rear doors suicide doors, dropped a small bit and something else just not sure what yet. I like the Jeep as well as it can really add flexibility to your weekends in the mountains.
