Is The New BMW X2 Simply Going To Be An Over Priced Mini Paceman?
With the BMW 2-Series already gaining an Active Tourer model and other series getting unnecessary GT and X models (like the X4 and X6), why not add a “sport-activity-coupe” called the X2 to lure a few more buyers into Bimmer showrooms? According to Bimmerpost, BMW has just confirmed that it will build a second-generation X1-based model called the X2. Unlike the X4 and X6, it will be offered in both three and five-door models.

BMW should change the name to GMW because GM kept making tons of unreliable junk all for the sake of profit, and look what happened to them now.

I'm looking forward to see $10k BMW like - (Minus) 3 series.

I am only glad that Lexus and Infiniti do not have to become like BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

For some strange reason, I don't think Lexus and Infiniti would turn down an opportunity to become MB and BMW if you were to ask them.

No worries, as they have up until now, they will keep trying, and trying… and trying… Build cars to drive 100mph+ everyday year in and year out and you learn how to make a great car.

Having said that this 2 series is probably a mistake in the US. Probably ok for Europe but in the US people view BMW (and Merc, Audi for that matter) a bit different than people in Europe, with people in the US viewing them as even more exclusive etc..

This looks more like a small mpv than a X vehicle.

It will be interesting to see if BMW has solved the torque steer of the Mini and its "always nervous" driving experience. Drive a GTI and a Cooper S back to back and the Mini comes off very unrefined.

All BMW's are overpriced, yet there are many that will still pay thousands more just for an emblem on their car.

I originally liked the X2 idea until it turned out to be FWD and just an overpriced Mini. The above picture (maybe bad editing) makes it look very tall and awkward and hence ugly.

I'd rather get a real BMW than some poorman wannabe BMW. Toss this into the pile of other Euro failures that tried to charge lux prices for econo crap (Audi and MB have their failures too).
