I read something about this at Autoweek too. Could get interesting. Maybe Cadi will build the Cien after all.

I guess they could dumb down the SLR since they already have the "infrastructure" in place. Then again I would have to ask what kind of potential this would have on them when they are trying to rebuild their quality.

But knowing what I know MB can’t pass up a chance to take on either of those two with a model of their own.

It's not that bad. It will turn heads regardless. It has supercar attributes and appeal. I don't know how this is going to work with the SLR in the line up too.

I like it, but it looks like just a photo shop frontal change to the Audi R8?

Mercedes should build a new version of the Mclarn F1, then it will own the roads.

They obviously used the R8 as the starting point in the photoshop. Once again, Audi creates new vehicle segment for a premium manufacturer, other follow.

They didn't, but they are the first German PREMIUM automaker that made a mid-engined sports car. BMW/MB don't have a cra like this one, but they are rushing ahead to make one. That is what I meant.

Chewy you have limited car knowledge to post so many wrong bias audi facts, audi created the mid- gngined segment?? Maserati, BMW M1 1978-1981, Acura NSX 1991-1999, Porsche for 60 years, Jaguar etc.. you wish audi were big league cars but they are not they are minor league wannabes. By the way Ford's GT much better than your rebadged gallado.

I am saying that Audi is the first German automaker that usually makes sedans is the first to introduce a mid-engined sports car. BMW/MB don't have anything in this segment. Audi is first to come out with a car in this segment. I referring to everything 1990+. Others might have had something before, but a 1970 car has no relation to present day cars or trends.

Larry: You are right about the M1.
However Audi was the first manufacturer to put a car with a Mid Engine back in the 1930's in their race car.
Seeing that the Ford is the same or more in price than the R8 will be, my choice is made on the R8, which is not a rebadge Gallardo. They only share the chassis.

Actually the GT is about 50k more expensive.
