Mercedes-Benz has the lowest vehicle recall rate in the U.S.

Mercedes-Benz may be on to something with their company slogan, "The Best or Nothing", as the automaker has the lowest rate of recalls of any automaker in the U.S.

According to a 30-year study conducted by industry research firm iSeeCars.com, Mercedes-Benz issued a recall at a rate of just 0.41 percent. The next closest automaker was Mazda at 0.55 percent respectively.

This result and Mercedes' recent Dependability results reminds me of the Mercedes from the 70's and 80's when their reputation for building solid and relatively reliable cars was possibly the best in the industry. They had their lumps for a few years but now seem to be back on track to building rock solid cars. But now they're also pushing the envelope of design and technology like never before.

I personally like MB but I have reservation about the durability and overall "Benzness" of the CLA. I haven't driven one yet but I keep reading about the stiff ride.

CLAs are entry level sporty sedans. You want an entry level luxury sedan, wait for the 2015 C class. Each class serves a purpose.
