What Is YOUR Number One Pet Peeve Of Driver Behaviors YOU See On The Road?
The more time goes on the more bizarre things get out there on the road.

I cannot believe what I see people doing driving.

Applying makeup (something I should consider), eating (full hot meals no less, NOT just a sandwich), drum playing and the list goes on and on.

But there are a few things that just drive me up the wall like what I saw when I took the cover shot for this article.

It's not uncommon in the least and I don't know why it bothers me so much but it does.

Using the passenger side dash as an ottoman. And no less BAREFOOT!

Do these people have ANY idea what will happen even in a SMALL crash to their feet?

I know, the chances are slim but Is it really worth taking the chance?

Ok, so there you have ONE of mine.

I want to know what YOU see being done by stupid drivers and occupants and what angers you MOST.

SPIES, discuss.....

Probably people pacing the car next to them preventing you from passing either one.

Lane control, through laziness or lack of skill.

Using the left-most lane for ANYTHING but passing.

Such behavior is usually deliberate. They are the "hall monitors" of the roadway. Law enforcement is on to this, but are too busy running speed traps.
Another one is the asshat who pulls out in front of you, causing you to slow, or brake. Under this circumstance, there is seldom traffic behind you. And again, they know what they're doing.

Some old lady driving 34 MPH on the expressway.

Someone ahead of you turning right into a driveway or parking lot and then stopping for no reason with the back of their car jutting halfway out in the road.

Guy blasting his stereo so loud you can feel your own car moving to the beat.

Gotta say those people the speed up to cut you off after you signal you are going into their lane. They have a special place in my heart.

1. Yeah, definitely people driving on highway in left/passing lane that refuse to move to the right when faster/oncoming traffic approaches. This always disrupts the flow of traffic as faster vehicles can pass & continue on their way.

2. Turn Signals/Blinkers - non-use or wrong use. I hate when people are wait to signal a lane change/turning until they are actually turning or changing lanes. I've seen people turn on their Signals halfway through a turn - too late by then. Most of these people speed to an intersection, then turn w/o warning which forces any traffic behind them to suddenly stop.

3. Driving on the Highway as if you're on a city street. Kinda related to Left Lane hoggers that refuse to move over & left faster traffic pass. These people don't drive anywhere near the speed limit. The zip into the left lane & then start a phone conversation - as they slow down. Craziness.

#3. Amen. Turn signal neglect drives me nuts and it seems to only be getting worse.

I would add multi-tasking. People trying to do everything BUT drive. Women, putting on make-up. people reading newspapers, texting or dialing a hand-held phone...

then slow down...and back again, it is because of this. Slow driver in the left lane? Dude is on the phone... People swaying into the bike Number 1, without a doubt, is talking on the phone...even hands free...sure, you think you can do it without any problem. Guess again. Out of every 4 accidents on the road today, 1 is caused by a person talking on the phone. Next time you see a car speed up and lane...again, on the phone. I see it every single day. Stuck in traffic, and suddenly 10 cars ahead the traffic starts to move, but one car is just sitting there...they are on the phone. People talk on the phone out of boredom...not because they have URGENT information that just cannot wait. Hang up the damned phone and drive!

when i come to a red light, i use my brakes as little as possible, in order to potentially have the light turn green, and still be moving, thus never having to come to a complete stop.

there's a lot of meatheads on the road that would rather maintain their speed, or even accelerate, just to brake harder/later, feeling as if they will reach their destination sooner.

these driver's suck. they're impatient, and are a substantial cause of traffic delays and accidents.

Since no one has mentioned it yet, I guess it's only me. I find rubber necking tremendously annoying, especially when the incident / scene is on the other side of a divided highway. It's completely unnecessary to do. Look where you want to go, not where you don't want to go.

Doing 40 mph merging onto the freeway. Hello! Speed limit is 60 and most are doing closer to 70.

I only agree if merging doing 60 MPH includes yielding properly. In the northeast, drivers often merge on without properly yielding, which freaks out the driver currently on the highway, which means they slow down etc etc
