2016 MERCEDES C-CLASS CONVERTIBLE FIRST VIDEO

2016 MERCEDES C-CLASS CONVERTIBLE FIRST VIDEO
For the first time, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class convertible has been spied. It looks like Mercedes is planning a two-door soft-top C-Class for MY2016 to go along with the C-Class convertible based on the gen W205.
The Mercedes cabriolet prototype was spied wearing heavy camo near Stuttgart, Germany in Sindelfingen. While we will surely see more spy photos over the coming months, don’t expect to see the two-door model unveiled until fall of next year before going on sale in early 2016.

Sorry if I'm being dense but I'm confused by the writer's statement: "It looks like Mercedes is planning a two-door soft-top C-Class for MY2016 to go along with the C-Class convertible based on the gen W205." Isn't that redundant? Or is it implying that there will be a soft-top and hard-top convertible option? Maybe I'm missing something.

I'm sure he meant a cabriolet in addition to the coupe. Either way, the C Class is well on its way to becoming The "It Car" of it's segment.

They are playing to both genders too with the aggressive sports sedan/coupe targeting Men and soft top/luxury sedan targeting Women.

I really cannot wait for the coupe to be introduced and I wish they'd do so it sooner in the process. If it ends up looking like a mini-S-Class coupe, it will just blow the A5/4 Series/ATS coupe out of the water. The current coupe is only in its 3rd year of production and its styling has never really resonated with me. The only risk is encroaching on the E-Class coupe territory.
