Should Jeep Fear VW’s T-Roc Concept?
At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen revealed a third crossover SUV for its new global lineup. This new model is branded as the T-Roc concept. The T-Roc is an odd build that doesn’t quite fit into any (existing) specific vehicle class/category, and for that reason you might be tempted to ignore this concept.

However, if you look beyond some of the weirder features, this model might be an early look at a serious competitor to the next-generation Jeep Wrangler.

Not from this cross-over.

No one has anything to fear from VW. I mean they can't even get their act together to do the 3 row crossover that they have needed for 10 years. VW simply does not build cars that are convincingly class leading and to think that suddenly they might is preposterous.

On the surface, if this new VW is priced right, it will get a lot of new consumers in the door. The hardcore offroaders will defend Jeep, of course, but VW has experience in providing some capable vehicles as well - for a higher price.

If that new small Jeep gets widely accepted across the US, then VW should fear Jeep. Or start assembling every SUV in the US to better compete if that's what they want to do.

Yes, VW knows how to build smaller economical fun-to-drive vehicles. Jeep has lost that ability.
