Fiat Adds Automatic Transmission To 500 Abarth - Because American Youth Doesn't Drive A Stick
 Fiat will offer an optional automatic transmission in the top performance versions of the 500 minicar in the United States for the 2015 model year.

The six-speed Aisin automatic will be available on 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth and Turbo models after they go into production in July, said Jason Stoicevich, head of the brand in North America.

Brand executives say the automatic will broaden the models' sales appeal.

no surprise, now throw in a dual clutch into the srt viper and im pretty sure their sales would increase as well ( for the same reason ) manuals are more fun, clearly sales numbers prove people dont just want fun, but practical as well. I would not be surprised if Viper offered a DCT that OVER 50% of sales would go that way...

Absolutely the right move on Fiat's part.Mini has had onefor a few years now.It should help resale no question.
