SPIED: More Of The NEXT-Gen Audi R8 Is Unveiled — Are YOU Liking The Direction Its Heading?
Ever since the launch of the Audi R8 we've been entranced. Its wedge shape and exotic look drew us in. The best part: no one would call you a douche if you pulled up to an event in one.

That's the thing about the R8. It makes you feel like Tony Stark and not like Joey Bag O' Donuts from Seaside Heights in a Rosso Corsa Ferrari F430.

There's just one problem. It's been out for quite a bit of time and though Audi has given it a revamp for the 2014 model year, it's just not keeping up with the latest and greatest sports cars that are emerging from all sides. That's OK. It had a good life.

Though we've seen some camouflaged shots of the all-new R8, the latest photographs show a car that's revealed a bit more and is starting to forecast what the all-new vehicle will look like with better accuracy. Note the more squinted headlights, large front air intakes and trapezoidal-shaped grille starting to take shape? Overall, the wedge shape remains the same but the body has been streamlined a bit more.

Ok, this is just getting more and more boring as a "new" Audi is unveiled. So much talk, especially from Nuttie, stating that Audi is going to differentiate their models more from one another, and there's going to be more dynamic styling. Yet, the headlights on this look very similar to the new TT, which looks all too similar to what's behind camouflage of the (supposed to be) new Q7 and A7.

you do know this car is covered in fake fenders, tape, and fake headlights?

You do realize that any human with a brain and eyes can discern from what's fake and what's not and get a pretty solid idea of what the production model will look like, right? Not that difficult.

Hard to know what the front and rear ends actually will look like from these pictures, but the side scoop appears quite a bit deeper. Maybe more breathing needed for the 4 liter twin turbo V8? Also, this car seems to be riding on bigger wheels that fill the bodywork better. I dislike the square exhausts. I'd expect huge changes in the infotainment systems, since that is the weakest link of the current R8.

Clearly R8 gen 2.0 is evolutionary - not a bad thing since gen 1.0 was(is)so good, but with all the great sports cars now available, Audi better hit a homerun with gen 2.0, not a double.

The second-generation R8 was never going to be radically different in terms of exterior design from the first generation. The first R8 was/is too successful sales wise and design-review wise to risk any major changes. The interior will however be very different from the first generation. The new R8 will receive the Audi TT's all-digital single screen gauge cluster and updated MMI system.

Expect it to look very different from the upcoming TT though.

Hope it's not as bugly ugly as current model!
