Maserati should be FCA's BMW fighter. The Alfa Romeo brand should be a near premium brand between Chrysler/Dodge and Maserati. The mainstream Alfas should be a VW GTI competitor, a Jetta GLI response, and a Mini competitor (i.e. a B segment model). They would have yummy Italian styling and be just a bit more expensive than the Chryslers. FCA really should have been smart enough to launch Fiat/Alfa Romeo/Maserati dealers. Maserati will not make its sales goals partially because of ridiculous pricing, but also the dealer network is tiny. A Fiat/Alfa/Maserati franchise would get the product to the people.
