NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: I SPY The 2015 Hyundai Sonata's INTERIOR — Can YOU Find The TWO Cool Things Inside?
If you recall back when the last-gen Hyundai Sonata was introduced, one of the big selling points about the then all-new product was its interior. Sure, it had a nicely designed exterior that didn't seem suited for an entry-level car, but it was when consumers got behind the wheel they were sold.
That's because it was extraordinarily roomy and had, overall, a more premium feel to it. Weird to say that about a Hyundai but that's the fact, Jack.
So when we saw the all-new, 2015 Hyundai Sonata's interior, we weren't surprised it delivered yet another positive experience. Take a look at the black interior with the orange piping and deviated stitching. Very slick.
Spot anything particularly interesting inside? Let us know in the comments below.
I SPY two COOL things. Can you find them?

The backlighting is all blue....the red and green you are seeing are the blinkers, hvac temperature scale, etc...

So, I guess you work for Honda.
Or you're the guy with the Honda/Acura blog.

The coolest thing about this is that no photo has left me compelled to even consider this car if I were in the market in this segment. So, thanks, Hyundai for saving me any wasted time to the dealership. This interior does look like it belongs in a premium car........from the 80's.

To each their own.
But, we'll be watching the sales figures...

Honestly, sales figures in this specific segment don't mean a whole lot. The dullest car of the lot continually rules the sales charts (Camry). Even when the Accord was easily the ugliest car in the segment, it was an easy second place.

Starting in mid 2012, the Sonata sales began to tank, only in its 3rd year of the Korea/Germany remake. 2013 sales dropped huge.
When you copy and/or use old designs, your cars age fast.

Agreed, HJ. What happened was that the novelty of such a fluid and dynamic design wore off after people realized the car itself was only about average against its competitors. Now, the new design already has its work cut out as it is no longer the design standout that the outgoing model was as the Fusion, Mazda 6, even the Optima, 200, and Accord, all are very good-looking models in their own right. And not to forget the just updated Camry that looks more like a Sonata than the new Sonata.

Hyundai will have another sales success. Not everyone is a purist...or even a pretend-one like so many on this site.

How much was Schreyer wanting to use blue for the interior light because it worked with VW and how much was it that Koreans like to associate with blue (maybe they worship blue eyes) so it was a no brainer to put blue in their new car.
