NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: What's There NOT To Like About The Audi RS7 Dynamic Edition? Does It Get MUCH Better Than This?
When it comes to cars, you have to remember, this is our passion. We love just about anything with four wheels but our duty is to tell you WHICH is better than WHAT and WHY. As with just about any industry, products tend to run in cycles — for better or worse.

Now we've always appreciated BMW's M cars and Mercedes' AMGs. BUT, when they are compared with the Audi RS7, it's pretty hard for them to edge it out. We can't get enough of the RS7, frankly.

It's got the look, the presence and you better believe it's got the powertrain.

So now that Audi has brought out the RS7 Dynamic Edition, the four rings has made it even harder to have a beef with us. That said, I am a bit curious: is there something NOT to like about the RS7 Dynamic Edition?

We have to ensure we don't remain jaded here, folks!

I think it looks great, but it's a bit overrated. I'd take an E63/CLS63 or M5 Competition/M6 GC over it.

I get it that you are closet racers - which is quite different from why most people actually USE cars - but I simply do not see why you are so enamored with Audi vehicles. From the front they all pretty much look the same - same cow catcher grill - and one would be hard pressed to say which Audi you are looking at from the front. I have never seen any Audi design that is special from the rear - and they simply do not have the "presence" of a Benz. The interior upholstery of this car reminds me of old Chrysler - looks cheap - and while the rest may be first rate - it is still too sterile for my taste. And all of these cars ride like trucks to me.

I Think MB's movement towards more luxury (instead of all out performance and hard as rock ride) is the right thing -while still providing incredible performance anyway. I think the Auto Press has moved cars too far away from the buyers - and now it is starting to swing back.

Audi continues to dominate. At both ends of the spectrum. On the lower end the A3 just won the "World Car of the Year" award. At some point all of the haters, or people who get on this site at work and obviously really only know enough about cars to display their ignorance (i.e. "looks like another Volkswagen"), need to acknowledge the success of the brand. Sometimes basics like great exterior design, quality fit and finish, beautiful interiors, powerful and efficient engines, and a brand image that attracts customers who do not need their car to scream "new money", actually cause a brand to EARN the success it is achieving. The haters need to review the socioeconomic statistics of most Audi buyers. With most models in the Audi portfolio, Audi customers have a higher level of education, a higher income, are younger, and have a higher net worth (A8 buyers especially - they far exceed S- Class buyers) than the models in their competitive set. Okay haters..rip my post with inaccurate facts and Volkswagen jokes now....

Geez, GermanNut, if you're going to post under multiple user names, at least change the names a LITTLE bit

What exactly is the "average income" based on ? Audi has stated its target customer for the A8 is one whose average household income is $500,000 and Mercedes states their target for the S is $300,000. I have found no resources that actually show the ACTUAL breakdown, so I'd be interested to see where this statement originates. One person tried to tell me at one point that it's because more billionaires own A8's than S-Classes. In my research I found about 2 billionaires who have declared as such, but these same billionaires also state they have Hondas and Ford (and Mercedes) in their garages. BTW, that person was unable to provide me with a concrete resource for their claim.
Forbes published a survey in 2008 that showed that owners of Mercedes vehicles had an average household income of $163k while the average for Audi was $152k. Granted, that was 6 years ago, but I wouldn't imagine a great shift in those averages.

JRob, that wasn't me, but Ocarrnut brings up some very valid points. I recently read that Audi's average transaction price is actually higher than BMW's (can't recall the source otherwise I would post a link).

The haters can say what they will but the auto reviews, sales, profitability figures and awards simply speak for themselves.

A8 buyers do not exceed the net worth of Mercedes S-class buyers as per the arguement. The S550 is at least $20,000 more than a comparable Audi A8 & Mercedes outsold the Audi A8 2,000 to 372.

Anyways, I like the front and side profile of the RS7, yet can't get past the rear view of the car. it is like Audi forgot to finish the car. Still it is a wicked fast car

Pretty car. If I were in the market for a 200mph sedan/coup, it would be on this list.

Looks great but at almost $40k premium should have at least 40-50hp boost over regular RS7,not just a cosmetic upgrade.
If that happened I would be first in line for one.....
