NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: BMW Drops The Curtain On The All-New X5 eDrive Concept — Is This A HYBRID YOU Could Imagine In YOUR Driveway?
At the 2014 New York Auto Show, BMW showed off a variety of all-new vehicles for the very first time. One of them was the BMW X5 eDrive, which is a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Considering how efficiency is becoming a bigger consumer concern AND the X5 is one of BMW's volume products, this has the potential to be BIG.

I had the chance to pilot the eDrive at BMW's North American headquarters this past Tuesday and though I have yet to write up my impressions, I will tell you now it was quite impressive.

Equipped with five driving modes, users have the chance to maximize the X5 eDrive's battery life. I will detail this in another post.

For now we'd just like for you to take a spin through the images Agent 001 shot this week and to provide some feedback: is THIS a hybrid YOU'd want in your driveway?

Let us know in the comments below.

It's a good thing BMW covered up the logos. I never would have guessed tha was an X5.

C'mon BMW. The blue grille slats are horrible. Talk about cliché!

Shouldn't this be an i5? Er, iX5?

I find myself longing for the crisp, clear car-naming days of the Gremlin, the Pacer and the Matador.

EFFICIENCY Is The Key Word Here: "The X5 is powered by a combination of a BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder combustion engine and a 95-horsepower electric motor. This results in an average MPG of 62 and CO2 emissions of less then 90 grams per kilometer". Plus the space and comfort typical of the X5; sounds like a winner in my book.
