Nissan Offers Two Years of Free Public Charging for New Leaf Buyers in the U.S.
In a move that's bound to draw some attention, Nissan said it is expanding the “No Charge to Charge” promotion in the U.S., providing two years of no-cost public charging with the purchase or lease of a new Nissan Leaf. The promotion will launch in 25 U.S. markets, which together make up more than 80 percent of Leaf sales.
Users will be given the new EZ-ChargeSM card that will provide them with access to the leading EV charging networks. New Leaf owners will receive an EZ-Charge card that will allow them to use chargers from ChargePoint, Blink Network from Car Charging Group, AeroVironment and NRG eVgo.

Sounds like Tesla is having an impact on the big boys.

I dont think Tesla has anything to do with this. The Leaf & Tesla are not cross-shopped (duh). Consumers considering the Leaf are doing it for convenience. Tesla buyers are purchasing their vehicles for far different reasons. The Leaf is a slow seller due to the limited range and high(ish) price.

Having free and available charging for the life of the Model S certainly is taken into consideration when purchasing the car and calculating the TCO, and has certainly helped with sales. Two of the important questions asked by people interested in EVs is where do you charge and how much does it cost. Nissan now can answer these question the same way Tesla can, everywhere and it is free.

The next thing Nissan should do is get that Infiniti brand to behave and produce the LE.
