NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Did Alpina Just Show Off The BEST LOOKING Alpina EVER?

NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: Did Alpina Just Show Off The BEST LOOKING Alpina EVER?
If you know anything about BMW, there's a good chance that you know a good amount about its tuners. Some examples include Dinan, Hartge and Hamann. BUT, only Alpina is affiliated with the factory.

If you look into the history of Alpina's special projects with BMW, you'll note there's a consistent theme: a bit too much pinstriping, a custom interior, possibly some engine modifications that may/may not improve performance, an aerodynamics kit, and a set of wheels and tires. Oh, and a 1980s influence that's starting to become a bit uncomfortable unless you're still rocking acid wash.

2014 New York Auto Show

At the 2014 New York Auto Show, however, it seems that Alpina may have just gotten it right. That's because it unveiled the B6 Gran Coupe. Though most of Alpina's product takes an extremely flamboyant approach, this one seemed a bit more on the calm and contained side.

That said, we want to hear from you: did Alpina just show off its BEST LOOKING car ever?

What say you, Spies?

Yeah the radial wheels gotta go. Front lip spoilers tend to be a bit too flamboyant for my taste.

But, hey! This one is easily the best.

I don't see how this stands out from the other Alpinas in their days. They're all good mind you, but I wouldn't say this one stands above the rest. I do have an issue with the seat control though and I guess this is a critique of BMW and not Alpina. I don't question their functionality but all those buttons in one big "box" that protrudes from the seat doesn't look very discrete. Minor quibble.

those wheels stopped working (style-wise) on BMWs after the e38 7er. BMW factory wheels look better!

and further, the 6er grand coupe is one of the most overrated styles out there. reminds me of a chrysler concorde
