This is a very poor decision on BMW's part. Just last month BMW executives were debating on whether to bring the 2-Series Active Tourer to the U.S. market and apparently now that decision has already been made and the answer is "yes"?

I'm very curious to see what data they had which convinced them the 2-Series Active Tourer will be a sales success in the U.S. market.

BMW will have the i3 and pretty soon the 2-Series Active Tourer. I don't see how the U.S. has enough demand to support both vehicles.

This should have stayed in Europe.

It's simple Gnut: They're very different vehicles. Even though the americans do not appreciate hatchbacks as much as Europeans, Asians, or South Americans among others, IMO they may sell pretty good numbers in the USA.

I would have liked it better if it has sliding doors and 3 rows of seat, but keep the exterior dimension smaller than the Town Country, Odyssey,Sienna. Keep it the size of the Mazda 5 or the Grand C-Max.

I would have preferred that it not be an overpriced Mini. Outside is good but knowing its a Mini underneath would make me just opt for a 3 series sedan or even an X1.

It looks like the Kia Carens/Rondo sold outside the USA.

That said, this will sell like mad and make good money for BMW.

It's not for me, but I think it will sell well. Heck, people are buying Fiat 500's.

Looks like another entry level model designed to bring BMW to the masses, and garner another generation of buyers. I can easily see this appealing to a younger audience who wants to drive something premium, but has been looking to/driving any number of 5 door models in the compact category.
