Wow - - - the S Class is really flying out the door! Mercedes sold more S Class cars in one month than A8s shipped by Audi for the entire year to date!

Yep and the E Class the oldest platform in the segment sold about the same as the A6 and 5 series combined.

That S Class is a profit Goldmine for Benzthough

Mercedes is definitely holding its own considering its two bread and butter cars are riding on the oldest platforms in their respective segments (the C and E). Can't wait for the new C to get here in the US.

It's interesting how a company's age of products/stage of lifecycle can make such a huge difference. Audi was trailing BMW and Mercedes-Benz in terms of growth rate of sales before the A3 Sedan and then all of a sudden boom they're up 19% for April.

Same goes for Mercedes-Benz who was trailing BMW by a lot until the CLA entered the market and sales soared. Mercedes-Benz does have a strong lineup on the horizon with the new S-class dominating its class as always, the CLA doing well on the low end and the high-volume, brand-new highly anticipated C-class due in 4 months.

Audi has the Q3 set to launch in the U.S. at around the same time the new C-class will launch. It should be very interesting not just in the U.S. but on a global scale as well.

And Mercedes has the GLA forthcoming this year as well, and its reviews have been better than the CLA, overall.
