Are Guys With Hot Cars Compensating For Their Shortcomings Elsewhere?

If you're a guy -- especially a single guy -- your hot rod may be the center of your world. On weekends, you tell friends you're busy, just so you can stay home to buff and polish it. And whenever possible, you love showing it off to the ladies.

That's a problem.

According to a new study conducted by marketing research firm Harris Poll, most women think that men with fast or exotic cars are arrogant  -- or worse, that they're insecure and compensating for their shortcomings. If you're looking for attention from the opposite sex, you should probably re-think your game plan.

Isn't that the whole point of the European luxury cars to begin with?

An empty country road to myself, a high performance V8 with torque, sound and a manual...priceless! That none of the women in my life
get it but all of my sons and grandsons do makes it that much sweeter.

Actually, guys (and gals) that accuse guys of having hot cars to compensate are truly the ones compensating. Truth. Get it?

While that might be true for some but I would think most people get cars that fit their taste and wallet.

This over compensating thing because of a fancy car, big truck, expensive SUV thing is ridiculous. Basically the only thing you can drive without being deemed wangless is a honda civic. Oh well... I still love my vehicles.

Sometimes, yes...look at the threads on 'Is this new [insert vehicle name here] the latest chick car?' to prove my point. Only people in fear of their masculinity make these kinds of references. These same people over-compensate with some overtly 'masculine' vehicle.

You got an totally backwards. Guys BUY 'hot' cars to conceal their shortcomings, loneliness and/or and weakness. It's an elementary fact.
