It's OFFICIAL! Maserati To Produce The Levante For 2015 AND Alfieri For 2016 — How Does The Initial Plans Sound To YOU So Far?
So far for 2014, it's hard to say that any particular concept car generated as much buzz as the Maserati Alfieri. It's received lots of love from the press and consumers alike. So much so, the company has decided to build it.

Yes, that's for real.

Announced during yesterday's big 'ol Fiatpalooza in Detroit, Maserati has now said it will bring a coupe and a convertible to the market. Said to be coming with a variety of engine choices — 410, 450, 520 and 560+ horsepower — it seems that Maserati is looking to take on the Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes-Benz GT AMG and Porsche 911. Things are heating up in the luxury two-seater space.

Where things get interesting is that Maserati plans to equip the small car with all-wheel drive — 560 horsepower V8 excluded.

The Levante, which we've been waiting for, has been confirmed to show itself in 2015. This could be Maserati's savior product, as previously seen with the Porsche Cayenne's success. We'll be keeping an eye out for this one. According to reports, it's expected to have two motors good for 350 and 425 horsepower, respectively. With the all-new Porsche Macan, Mercedes-Benz MLC, BMW X4 and a slew of others, this is going to be one very interesting battle royale.

So this is Marchionne's plan for Maserati...this week. Marchionne wants sales from Maserati, but has an utterly dumb dealer network plan. Maserati should go into Chrysler dealers in markets where BMW and Mercedes are present but an established Maserati dealer is not.

Levante is DUMB name..."Ask your doctor about Levante. Do not take Levante if..."

Marchionne says it's not a reskinned Grand Cherokee. Let's make bets that it is.

Sounds like you have some valid points...LOL on the 'ask your doctor'...but the Alfieri looks like a potential winner if they get it right.

@Need4Speed Maserati has a fairly good car in the Ghibli, but it is overpriced--it should be priced UNDER the competition by 15% not OVER by that amount--and there is a gross lack of coordination from Fiat over marketing.

We had to do a stand-alone dealer for our Fiat store when it could have easily been merged with the Dodge or Chrysler/Jeep store. Alfa was to have been sold through Fiat stores--they promised that if we would build a dealer--and then they decided to market Alfa through Maserati stores, but they are now aiming Alfa Romeo and Maserati at exactly the same market.

Until the dreadful depreciation of Maserati is addressed, no sane person will buy one.
