SPIED: Are THESE FIRST Shots Of This RUGGED Ford The FIRST Indications Of An Attack On The Jeep Wrangler?
Did YOU know? For the year ended 2013, Jeep moved over 150,000 units of the Wrangler? Did YOU also know? In the previous year it sold over 140,000 Wranglers.

Neither of these figures are numbers to ignore as it clearly shows that while the Wrangler may have been the "it" car of the 1990s, it still has some legs. Considering the vehicle has become substantially better over the years, we don't see a reason for a sales slowdown. THINK: what other sport-utility vehicle or truck is still rugged and capable like the Wrangler?

The answer is simple. Not many.

That said, it seems that there's an opening from competition. I think I am not the only Agent here thinking we'd like to see Ford get back into the mix with a resurrection of the Bronco, either in spirit or in its actual nameplate. That **may** be actually happening too.

These first spy shots brought to light by Burlappcar show the first hints of a production vehicle by a Brazilian-based company, Troller. Ford bought it back in 2007.

Is this simply going to be an emerging market product or will the global Ford effort mean this sees its way to the States? What say YOU, Spies? Are these the FIRST indications that Ford will be going after the Jeep Wrangler's market?

Kinda ugly, but a new Bronco (in the vein of the very first one) would be a delight.

Give it better mpg than the Wrangler and perhaps Jeep will finally offer a 4 cylinder diesel option.

The achilles heel of all Jeeps are their crap mileage and why a oil burning sipper is never offered. I would have thought FIAT would bring one being European and all but only a wasteful 6 cylinder diesel is offered in their top line Gr.Cherokees.

Personally did a 2 hr. road test of the diesel SUVs. In actual real world driving Jeep GC got better fuel mileage than the German competitors. Loaded GC Summit is 10% less $ than VW Touareg diesel, and 20+% less expensive that similarly equipped same chassis Mercedes ML diesel. It has features that the Germans don't even offer. Wrangler diesel does make a lot of sense however.

No thanks. Ford nailed it 10 years ago with their Bronco concept. It still looks great a decade later. Unfortunately, if they ever do get around to building a new Bronco, it'll end up a bloated mess like this Troller.

Build this, FORD: http://www.diseno-art.com/encyclopedia/concept_cars/ford_bronco.html
