Mercedes-Benz MLC Crossover Will Be Called ML Coupe

The upcoming rival for the BMW X6 prepared by Mercedes-Benz will be known as the ML Coupe once it will be hitting the market in early 2015.

The development of the Mercedes-Benz MLC is no longer a surprise for anyone as the model in question is known to become a direct rival for the BMW X6 but it seems that the SAV will be changing its name once it will hit the market. According to a report posted by Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog, the vehicle will be sold under the ML Coupe name and it will be produced at the company’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama factory, in the United States.

Why is MB repeating a really bad idea?

Because, the US isn't the only car market on the planet (assuming you are in the US). The X6 has sold over 250k units since intro about 6 years ago. Clearly, it's profitable due to platform sharing, so the MLC should also find an audience and prove profitable.

interestingly enough, this thing just may work out for Benz, it will really come down to pricing. Most people who decline to purchase the ML is based on its rather bland to-the-point styling.

This ML coupe now makes the ML feel special and I expect the design to be rather stunning in person, as Benz has proven time and time again, they know how to design a coupe.

I see the word "coupe" literally has no meaning anymore.
