Ooops! BMW 7-Series Plug-In Hybrid Breaks Down During Testing

The upcoming BMW G11 7 Series model is currently being tested, with a plug-in hybrid version in the works. We’ve seen it before but up until now, not broken down, on the side of the road. Well, that time has come, as you’re about to see.

Our dedicated spy photographers just caught up with what looks like the hybrid, on a public highway, hazard lights on and stuff, waiting for a tow truck to come and get it.

I like how the sign next to the speed limit is also camouflaged

Why is everyone assuming its a mechanical problem? Maybe it has a flat tire and the "run-flats" de-treaded and its riding on its rim?

Happened to me in my 328i a few years ago. Any Bimmer owners have similar stories to share? I was in the middle of NY state on a Saturday night - no "BMW Center within 200 miles - it sucked! They should put a spare in regardless - how much weight does it really save when their car strands customers?

What? What makes you think the luxury European automakers actually should worry about the customers who can only afford such low-entry entry car like yours?

They do not sell just cars, but brands, and you have problem with them? They do not care. Why do you think the owners of BMW 6 series, Lamborghini, Maserati and such hammered down their cars? Because they were treated like crap and getting no good services from them. Scott Disick also hated his Mercedes SLS, since it breaks down all the time, and yet, he bought an SLR recently apparently.

If you own a luxury European car, you are to accommodate them, not the other way around.

Bridgestone run flat tires should be banned by BMW. Stay with Michelin or Dunlop.

You can't even afford an Infiniti to begin with, BobM(oron), so Infiniti does not want you as well.

In fact, you are too dumb to own a luxury car anyway. When was the last time you outbested me in an argument anyway?

Who knows what happened. Maybe a experimental battery was overheating or not recharging. Pure speculation.I like the way everyone believes BMW needs Toyota's expertise with "hybrid technology." BMW has probably pulled apart a Prius, Leaf, Volt, and Tesla to examine the battery/drivetrain. It is not rocket science.

OK...so thread author does not understand the concept of testing. I'm embarrassed for him.

A product failure during testing? This is new and interesting news? Does autospies really think its readers are that stupid to put content like this on the site? Wait, don't answer that last one.
