RENDERED SPECULATION: IF BMW's X7 Looked Like THIS, Would YOU Be Down For It?

RENDERED SPECULATION: IF BMW's X7 Looked Like THIS, Would YOU Be Down For It?
In the past month it's become clear that the BMW X7 is actually on its way. Though the vehicle's been rumored on/off for about a handful of years, it will become a reality in the near-term future.

Of course, this has the artists who render particularly excited.

One of the more talented gentlemen showing off his skill on the web is Theophilus Chin. Usually crafting some great Photoshop work, Chin took on the X7. It appears he was heavily influenced by the current-gen BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, which the X7 would go up against squarely.

As the Bavarians go after every niche that could put dollars in the bank, clearly there's been a separation from the company's roots. But, that's the name of the game — to make money — so they say.

Out of curiosity: WHEN BMW drops the X7 in showrooms, are YOU going to be checking it out?

Based on the rendering, the X7 looks like a tall, bulky 7er wagon.

The design can be a complete mess....somebody will buy it & will turn heads in every market where it's sold. The version after the 1st-gen X7 will look good or at least comparatively better.

Ugh! I've commented before about how disappointing, to me, the X5 redesign has been. Sadly, this X7 still carries over the same "surprised water buffalo getting a colonoscopy" look on the front end, as in the X5.

They may sell some, but its quite ugly. BMW interiors have also stayed boring and have actually migrated towards dysfunctional. It started with the 6-series and the swoopy dash board - that looks ok at the auto show, but if you live with it daily, the IP is like an octopus blob spreading around the interior taking up space where your body, your stuff, your phone...wants to be. The 3/4 series interior suffers from this as well.

However, maybe the X7 is really BMW's "VW Phaeton" - a car that will subsidize tooling and overhead for what they really should be building - a luxe Rolls Royce jumbo SUV. THAT would be a vehicle to get excited about.

X5 front + GL450 side + X5 rear = X7 rendering apparently. Looks very un-BMW.

It looks fine but I'd rather wait for the X13. I heard it'll battle the Hummer and the Audi Q11.

Like the new X5, it looks a bit rubbish, if all BMW is scale up the X5, and not actually give it any more class, then it will be a bit of a joke.

So true about the water buffalo. Come on BMW. Stop making such ugly SUVs.

guys, this is a speculative render. please wait till the actual car is released. and then wait till you see the car. the new x5 looked unimpressive and almost a regression when I saw the pics, but the look grew on me and all my misgivings went away when i saw it in person esp in m sport guise.
