REFRESHER! So, Why Is The BMW Vision Future Luxury IMPORTANT? Let ME Remind YOU...
If you're a bit confused as to why we're juiced up at the sight of real-life images of the all-new BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept, we have good reason. This is literally the very future of BMW's vehicles. That's not hyperbole.
In fact, we think this is clearly the next-gen BMW 7-Series and it will integrate much of the technology you're seeing here.

Note how this vehicle makes real the things that have been discussed by senior-level BMW leaders for years. Check out how there's going to be screens for every passenger now. See the iPad-like tablet in the backseat and the front passenger's own display? If you recall, the previous Vision concept vehicles have had functionality so passengers can send messages and communicate with other people inside the cabin.
In addition, note how the concept integrates carbon fiber construction in the doors. I'd wager there's some pretty interesting carbon fiber integration in this chassis and body panels. As we've observed FOR YEARS now, BMW's pretty transparent with its upcoming production models through the release of its concepts.

Throw on conventionally opening doors and you probably do have the next 7 series. For me, the 7 Series is the best of the 3 German biggies. It avoids looking like a morbidly obese blinged out prostitute walking the streets of Chicago (S Class) and it is not an interpretation answering the question "If we could make a Camry even more bland and unforgettable what would we do?" (A8). The current 7 Series is as perfect as a Hugo Boss suit with a pair of Cole Haans. The new 7 Series--if the concept is accurate--will be a stunner.

Well said, @MattDarringer.
Only difference is I would have probably said a Zegna suit and Bruno Magli shoes. ;)

@Agent00R I have a fondness for old school Hugo Boss and Cole Haan because of a mentor of mine who has passed. Brunos are nothing to sneeze at either.

Interior is interesting, the exterior is just like the current 7 series with bits done at the front and bits done at the rear, just dreadful..

I believe BMW may be planning a 9-series sedan and 8-series coupe. The 7 and 5 are seen a "executive" autos but Vision Future Luxury is different. Emerging markets such as China, Russia, the Middle East want luxury. That is why the X7 is being produced. BMW pulled the plug in 2008 for the X7 and now is try to catch the MB GL and Range Rover. 7-series will probably use the VFL platform and carbon fiber technology. Same with future Rolls Royce autos.

BMW needs to reassert itself as a premier luxury auto maker. The 750 sedan fell way short of the mark. Mercedes new S class has leapfrogged over BMW.
It is BMW's move now and its Luxury Concept looks like a winner.

Epitome of modernity. Build it as is and, sales would equal or surpass that of the, then new, 1965 Ford Mustang fifty years ago.

Wait till it's out of warranty and see what repair costs are. Important for resale value.......

Where are the tie down hooks to pull it onto the flatbed truck after you get a flat tire and the run-flat tires "de-tread" and leave you stranded in the side of the road in the middle of nowhere......on a Saturday night....on a holiday weekend...200 miles from a "BMW Centre"...with no replacement tire available because they are sold in unique, one-of-a-kind vanity sizes that no tire stores carry.
True story..happened to me...never buying another BMW unless it comes with a spare tire.
At least put a donut tire in it so we can limp home.
