Although this cilp does features the all-new BMW M3 starting up its motor and has some revs, I don't want this to turn into another sound discussion. I am pretty sure we've all weighed in on that debate.

In this case though, I want to look at something else. Not too long ago, BMW put on its Instagram account an image of an all-new M3's interior done up in BMW Individual trim. This means much more leather around the cabin and even a touch of wood.

This is the conundrum. Some folks wholeheartedly believe that wood belongs in a living room and not in an automobile. In addition, some may say that the M3 should sport cloth seats and a basic interior, not be a place of comfort.

So, where do you stand? Is this all-new M3 a bit too dressed up or is it EXACTLY what the company needs compete against its other stylish competitors?

I have filmed the brand new 2015 BMW M3 F80 start up its twin turbo inline-six and rev at the 2014 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Footage includes also some detail shots of the exterior and interior.

Exterior looks great. That vomit-inspired interior, not so much.

I agree the "orange" coloring is vomit invoking. It also looks cluttered and cramped.

Why doesn't the article also ask, "Is this M3 too fast?"

Nice but looks like the wood on the dash would be blinding with reflections off it?

There's nothing wrong with the M3 being comfortable and I don't think that wood is too luxurious for it and it should set it apart from car companies who don't mind making a car look special and a lot faster than the standard while being just as slow as a Camry (IS250 F Sport). It's probably just an option anyway and people who think wood only belongs in a house can have metal (by the way that sounds ridiculous).

sooo...what should be in the interior, carbon fiber???!!! a materiel designed for weight savings that is instead used for styling purposes?

Some prefer to go fast in comfort rather than in the ambiance of a go cart. And we don't mind paying extra for that luxury. I've never understood why some find it offensive to have things like leather & wood in a performance vehicle... If you don't like it, then don't buy it! Your selection of carbon fiber or cheap aluminum trim (that doesn't age well, btw) and cloth seats do not make you more of an enthusiast than I or anyone else for that matter.
