Is NOW The Time For Ford To Re-Introduce The Bronco?
Many international automakers have brands unique to a particular market. These brands are often designed to cater to specific needs. Fiat's Lancia brand is a good example of this, as it's designed to provide low-cost entry-lux vehicles to the Italian market. Ford's Lincoln Motor Company arm is another great example of this, as it's designed to make other drives aware that an old person is behind the wheel. In Brazil, Ford has the Troller brand, which is designed to provide an affordable Jeep-like off-roader to the masses. With many still pining for the return of the Ford Bronco, Ford recently pulled the wraps off the second-generation Troller T4.

It would make much more sense to make it a Lincoln for a variety of reasons. The most obvious is so that Lincoln has one vehicle that does not have an equivalent at the Ford dealer. It would also give Lincoln a "Land Rover" type vehicle to sell. It would not need to look like other Lincolns and, given that Ford has demoted Max Wolff from being in charge of Lincoln styling, even Lincolns will not look like the current disgusting crop of Mercurys that the dealers dislike.

I had two Broncos over the years and found them to be poorly designed and essentially a waste. It was a truck that could not do anything well except burn prodigious amounts of gasoline. The shortness of the body/frame/wheelbase was the major flaw and shortcoming of the Bronco truck. Getting in or out of the rear seat was a horror. Beside the rear seat, there barely enough room to put anything larger than tissue box. The short wheelbase made towing very dangerous and unstable. The build quality was also quite mediocre. BTW, everything I state about the Bronco goes for the Chevy Blazer and the Dodge Power Wagon version. All were terrible vehicles.

Why buy some junk truck like this when there are superior alternatives, like Toyota 4Runner and Nissan Xterra?

You can't honestly rely on a single American car when it comes to serious off-roading. I mean, what American car can compete with Toyota Land Cruiser?

Oh wait, sorry, actually that was pretty unfair. Because the Americans don't even know how to build a single reliable truck to begin with, let alone a truck that can go anywhere. Tsk tsk

A Jeep Wrangler can easily do what a porcine Land Cruiser can do.

I'm pretty sure it can, is that why Land Cruiser is used by many people involved in the military or the U.N., and almost no one using Wrangler? Now I think about it, isn't Wrangler CHEAPER? So, don't you think more people should use Wrangler, if it is as good as the LC?

You should stop dreaming, seriously.

You do realize a land cruiser is nearly $100k and you can buy a base wrangler for 20k? Wrangler is built for the average budget. Land cruisers... Not so much. A FJ cruiser is a fair comparison but reviews are essentially split on preference. Oh and it should be noted the FJ is nearing the end of production so the people have spoken I suppose. Living in CO, there are some well built jeeps and land cruisers. Many prefer the jeep for MPG, cheap repairs, and aftermarket parts. LC's are wide, heavy, and pricey. They are good off roaders but at the end of the day, you missed the point in the article about a vehicle for the masses.

So many military and UN units use LC's because they're available all over the world. Keep in mind these are older LC's and far more stripped down than the versions we get. Wranglers until recently haven't been sold globally into the fringe markets like the LC has. In the next 5-10 years reevaluate your comment.

"You can't honestly rely on a single American car when it comes to serious off-roading."

Seriously? I take it you've never left your house and seen the myriad of customized Jeep wranglers all over the streets of america? The customized Jeep market is worth over 15 billion dollars annually. Obviously the millions of Jeep owners have brains as developed as yours.

trmckin, Wrangler doesn't even have a fuel cap door, and I have heard a lot of people's gas somehow stolen because of it. Now if you think about it, what kind of an idiot makes a car without a gas cap door? The American automakers usually couldn't even make a decent locked gas cap door until very recently, but Jeep is still without the door itself? Ya, I'm sure people would want it.

And have you ever thought of used LCs? I guess you don't exactly know the fact that there are many people who buy cheap, used Japanese LCs with diesel engine inside. It is much wiser, and cheaper to buy an old LC than buy a junk like Jeep.

Oh, by the way, friend, watch this video, you might want to see something like this since you don't seem to realize what's going on at Chrysler.

Johnny, do you really think that would mean "anything"? I have seen tons of people driving around cars that seem like falling apart (Mostly Chevrolet) and just because they drive Jeep, do you think it means anything? There is always a market to anything, even for junk.

Anyway, also for you, I recommend this video.

There is ZERO proof that video connects auto workers to smoking pot/drinking. It looks like a bunch of guys in a parking lot.

Plus it's from Fox news...
