STUD OR DUD? Mini Reveals Stretched 5 Door Hatchback
Mini has revealed the five-door hatchback – the first time it has added rear doors to the popular hatch. By doing so, the carmaker hopes to add an additional 150,000 units annually and expects it to outsell its three-door sibling by three to one (in the UK, at least). And for good reason. Aesthetically, it looks better balanced than the three-door. Mini has stretched the wheelbase by 72 mm, which all goes to the rear cabin, while the five-door also offers 15 mm more headroom and 61 mm of extra width “at shoulder height.”

Dud. It's just a 5 door hatchback. Literally nothing special about it. It really is too bad that BMW lost the MG badge...

The only company who has pulled this off is VW. No exception here. Doesn't help that the body work is stupidly pulled away from the glass in the rear.

The 3 dr. version 3 is not a good looker either. Version 1 of the new Mini's that came out in 2002 had the best styling. Version 2 in 2007 did not look as good and this version 3 looks worse still. Saying that I like the more racked slope of the rear hatch window on the 4dr.But those door handles are humongous!
