SPIED: All-NEW Spy Pics Of The 2015 Porsche Cayenne Emerge — Not Much Camo Left, So, How Much Longer Do We Have To Wait?
While It only seems like yesterday, the current-gen Porsche Cayenne has been on the market for a bit of time now. With building pressure coming from the likes of its competition, the brand has to do what's right and keep its vehicle up-to-date.

Considering all the updates to Porsche's available technology, there was quite a bit of work to do.

At this stage we've seen the Cayenne pass through what appears to be the majority of its development cycles. It seems we're in the final leg now and we, frankly, wouldn't be shocked if a press release with images plunks down in the coming days or weeks.

We know this because the latest spy shots show the Cayenne sporting virtually zero camouflage. The only bits that are covered up to fool the lens are the headlights, daytime running lights and rear taillights.

Everything else is left out in the open for prying eyes to see.

Taking that into consideration, it's pretty clear that there's been modifications to the front facade's venting for cooling as well as the rear end's lower valence. Note the much larger dual exhaust tips, which we believe would be fitted on the standard Cayenne and Cayenne S?

Though this is educated speculation, expect the 2014 Panamera's motors to make their way into the Cayenne.

Given that the "all new, second-generation" Cayenne was literally the old one reskinned, this is just another nip and tuck for the older than old Porsche Touareg. Yeah, yeah, yeah it sells. Yeah, yeah, yeah it makes a profit, but it's far from being the one to have. The platform needs to be replaced with an aluminum intensive structure to drop at least 1000 pounds of curb weight, but even then it would still be a heavy, porcine vehicle.

Wow. If you're not an engineer than you need to become one. We need geniuses like you that can take a 4,398 lb SUV of this size down below 3,398 lbs. It would be lighter than most mid-size luxury sedans and would surely get over 100 mpg.

The weight of a BASE Cayenne is 4553 and the fully optioned one is 4883. Both need to be trimmed by 1000 pounds for CAFE. But even using your number, a vehicle of its size does not need to weigh over TWO TONS. I'm finding it amusing that you are against the intelligent engineering that would reduce C02 while maintaining performance.

Aberabee - - - Just ignore Matt, he just hates German cars. He always states things as if they are fact, even when they are wrong and never states his sources.

The base Cayenne weights 4,398 making it a ballerina next to his loved Lincoln Navigator.

I guess the obvious questions is this Matt. What luxury SUV/CUV on the market today of the Cayenne's size and power and capability weighs under 4000 LBS? I believe the answer is a big fat "none". Now I don't disagree with you Matt on your premise at all. But then you really need to say that about all vehicles on the market today. However with all the crash structure requirements as well as other safety requirements due to US regulations how do you do that. The best I've actually seen is perhaps 150 LBS with some car makers but certainly nothing close to a 1,000 LB weight reduction. Further how do you do and make it cost effective for the average person to afford? High end automakers can get away with using carbon fiber and spend the money on lightening a crucial part. However the consumer pays a pretty penny for this technology. Time to call Lotus!!!

Oh and as for Cayenne styling. In typical Porsche styling fashion you need a microscope to spot the changes. Yawn.

The massive change occurs at the front. The grill is more open ie bigger and makes it resemble the GTS model more. This is a crucial improvement. The pre-faclift non GTS and non Turbo models, eg the S model, had a grill that was too narrow in relation to the girth of the SUV.
In my considered opinion, the Cayenne is easily the sexiest of the two row SUVs.....lovely curves; lovely, just lovely. Always reminds me of the hips of Marylyne Monroe or Beyoncé especially when viewing the rear aspect!
