Or, the better choices. RC-F and Eau Rouge.

Cayman seems to get the most love of all these models as far as reviewers go. It also doesn't quite blend in as much as a non-turbo 911 and I think is probably going to get more nods of approval from passersby and fellow motorists than the M4. Except Russian gangsters, I think those guys would be all over the M4.

Cayman S, without even blinking. IMO, possibly the best car in the world.

Between those three, the M4. I don't want straight out of 1963 styling (911) or a 911 caricature (Cayman). I'm also not into the sound of the Super Beetle engine. For that amount of money I'd get a Stingray, a ZL1, or for less a GT350.

fun factor alone, the 911 or Cayman would poop all over the M4. I'd recommend getting a used 911 Turbo or a Cayman S, although the current Cayman S is, to my eyes, spectacular looking; aesthetically.

BMW M4 or the porsche 911. I like the cayman yet just a little too harsh to drive. I have always loved the 911, yet my heart is with BMW M4 and think it is the best for the money.

Between a new Cayman and a used 911, I say the Cayman is an easy choice. It's my #1 most desired car right now. But choosing between the Cayman and the M4 depends on what the buyer wants. The Cayman is a pure sports car and has limited flexibility. The M4 is still a totally functional vehicle for doing everything in your life, just taken to the sportiest extreme. you can still cart people in the back seats, do your shopping, etc.

Every reviewer of the M4 states it's engine sound is disappointing otherwise it would be my choice if I needed additional room. It does everything else well. Saying this I'm not somebody who needs a lot of room. As for a used 911 it would depend on which used 911. If were the 997 Carrera S I might spring for it. Otherwise I'd have to go for a Cayman GTS with sports suspension. A new 911 is simply too much money. The base Carrera is no quicker than a Cayman GTS and the Cayman will handle better.Done.

bmw m4 is the most practical choice, you cant go wrong with any of these 3 though.

Depends what you want: All 3 are great cars for the right buyer
New M4: usable back seats, always wanted an 'M' car, daily driver
New Cayman: best handling car period, so if you track, this is the car to have, otherwise you won't notice the advantages in day to day driving
Used 911: so what if it's used and there are faster cars out there ('Vette, WRX, etc.)? If this was your dream car growing up, you gotta have it.

Here's my order:

1) 2012 Cayman R with AC - hydraulic assist ver eletronic assist in a 2014 Cayman
2) Used 911 - aganin just make sure it has hydraulic assist
3) M4 - not a BMW hater, I just feel that they've lost their way with the current M3's / M4's. They should throw up posters of E30 M3's everywhere and use that is their design target.

Interesting question that I just answered. My decision was between a new Cayman GTS and a 2012 Carrera S (991). The M4 didn't come into the mix because I wanted a sports car not a sports coupe (no disrespect to the M4--it's a terrific car). I went for the Carrera S, primarily for the rear seats (grand kids) and the little bit of extra refinement of the 911. I'm actually at the end of the first day of driving the Carrera home. After nearly 400 miles I can say, it's fabulous! For me it was the right decision. This is a car my wife can enjoy and I can do my two or three track days per year.

Do something smart. Buy a good, 91, MR2 Turbo and put the rest of your money in your IRA.
