SPIED: The BEST EXTERIOR And INTERIOR Shots Of The All-New Bentley SUV — Is It Heading In The RIGHT Direction?
I think there's a universal sigh when an automaker comes out and says "Hey, we're going to be building a sport-utility vehicle." It's not that people hate them — sales prove that point — but SUVs are considered the ultimate culprit in diminishing a brand's history, especially if they are levered up on the whole sports car thing.

While Bentley may not exactly build sports cars, the company is known for its racing history that oozes in all of its products.

Though Bentley currently is racing an all-new car, the Continental GT3, and it is producing a GT3 road car, it is also in the process of developing an SUV. We all saw the concept at one of the big auto shows but now this is the real deal.

As you can see its exterior seems to be a mish mash of the Land Rover Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne and the new Flying Spur. On the inside, it appears to have more of a Continental GT feel with the wing-inspired dash. Though the pictures' perspective is a bit limited, it's clear there is a TFT display that serves as the instrument cluster.

Right now these are easily the most telling and BEST shots out there of the upcoming Bentley SUV.

As far as YOU can see, is this something that's lust worthy to YOU and is it heading in the right direction — design wise — or is it a BIG flub? What say you, Spies?

Bentley is known for luxury more than anything and an SUV makes sense. In my opinion, the Bentley SUV should have used a cutting edge, aluminum-intensive platform instead of being yet another iteration on the 12 year old VW Toerag. Yeah, yeah, yeah they gave it some styling nips and tucks, but the basic platform is straight out of 2002. This thing will probably sell despite being on the old VW Toejam, but the laziness of VWAG on engineering with this SUV family is monumental.

Well, we don't know the specifics if it's using an old-school Touareg chassis or if it's using Audi's all-new Q7 chassis that's said to have dropped some serious pounds.

Soon enough, soon enough.

This is definitely going to be on the platform that debuts with the second generation Q7 and will then appear on the third generation Touareg and Cayenne.
