Subaru Says 2016 WRX To Shed Ugly Duckling Looks And Incorporate WRX Concept Style Cues

Subaru Says 2016 WRX To Shed Ugly Duckling Looks And Incorporate WRX Concept Style Cues

Subaru could implement styling from 2013's WRX Concept into next Impreza production car
The current Subaru WRX STi is a little disappointing on the styling front, compared with 2013’s WRX Concept (pictured). But company insiders have told Auto Express that the next Impreza – due in 2016 – and the WRX that follows it will get design cues from the concept.

Providing a glimmer of hope that all of the concept's sleek style was not lost, Subaru's WRX Project General Manager, Masuo Takatsu, told us that the main design theme of the WRX Concept could yet be applied to a production car.

NOT a Suburu fan nor a WRX fan, but that is a cool concept. Lots of nice touches.

I'm neither a Subaru fan nor a WRX fan either, but I have never understood Subaru two styling modes. They either go ungainly or bland, but never attractive. I would also separate the Impreza and the WRX so that they share no sheet metal.

Not a big fan here either mainly due to the childish exterior and interior design but will totally buy one as a project car for modding and what not if it looks like this.

Don't get me wrong. I have driven a WRX STI and the EVO X. They are definitely fun but they are ghastly cheap in their construction for as much as they cost. I also don't like the sound of the Subaru's flat engine, but a WRX is fun at the track.

Subaru almost had me convinced that the newest WRX/STI would look like the concept. Almost.

good, Subaru just made me wanna wait until 2016 to consider a WRX or STI instead of the 2015 models.
