CAR WARS! Drag Race Edition: 2015 Subaru WRX STI vs. 2014 Porsche Cayman
If you're like the fictional characters in the Fast and Furious franchise and you live your life a quarter mile at a time — in this case a mile at a time — then you may want to scope out this clip. Although there's plenty of videos showing drag races, we're pretty sure this pairing hasn't come up before.

That's because someone decided to line up a 2015 Subaru WRX and 2014 Porsche Cayman to see what would happen.

The WRX STI is known for its rallying heritage and all-wheel drive setup. Spartan and fierce, these cars are quicker than you'd expect. And when they're modded you better not take one on if you don't want to get embarrassed.

The Porsche Cayman isn't exactly known as a straight line performer. Of course this makes the clip feel a bit like a setup, but that's another story. As a mid-engined vehicle with power sent to the rear it won't hook up as quick as an all-wheel drive vehicle; however, you do have to remember it is a purpose-built speed machine.

Watch and see how this head-to-head battle shakes out, below!

Funny how a car that cost half as much can perform almost the same. Just like the GTR against the 911 Turbo.

You do understand that people buy Porsches not because of performance, but because: (1) childhood dream was to own a Porsche, (2) brand/image conscious, (3) they got money, they want to spend it (they also belong to a $200/month gym, buy $300 driving slippers and eat $15 hamburgers).

Quizz I know, my neighbor has a Carrera 4 and I know what a true PORSCHE fan he is. He is one of those that don't believe a CAYMAN is a true PORSCHE. BTW he also has a M3 "Limerock" Edition.

I love that orange Limerock interior. The last great naturally aspirated V8 (that's not a Ferrari).

I know where you're coming from and if I was a 25 year old again, I'd go with the STI all day long. But now that I'm older and see mortality creeping closer, I don't mind spending a bit more money (forget the kid's college fund, they just need to get better grades for a free ride) to enjoy the next 30 years of my life (as long as my knees can still work a clutch).
