SPIED: The Audi Q3 That STILL Hasn't Arrived Gets Another Nip/Tuck For Its U.S. Debut?
When it comes to the luxury automakers, I think it's safe to say we're now thinking that Audi's golden age has passed. Sure, it's vehicles were the object of affection for many but we're thinking the tide is gradually turning. Like all businesses, it is ruled by its cycles. Audi's is over.
We're excited to see what's next.

One thing that truly baffles me though is why Audi has dragged its feet in getting the Audi Q3 stateside. BMW did the same thing with the X1, but it did beat out the competition in getting a small luxury ute to the market. With Lexus' NX and Mercedes-Benz's GLA bearing down, it's not going to be smooth sailing when the Q3 arrives for the 2015 model year.
In these latest spy shots, the Q3 is seen sporting a bunch of camouflage from the beltline on down. Though I reckon the Q3 just did go through some enhancements that were fairly recent, it appears the four rings may have a bit more touch up work to do. Pretty peculiar given the North American model already appeared at this year's New York Auto Show.

Audi's styling has definitely stagnated. They need to adopt a new design language. The one they began when they introduced the first A4 and morphed since then needs to go. The large, gaping hole face is played out. Everyone has one. Don't get me wrong. I'll take Audi's styling over the grotesque, made-for-a-Detroit-slum styling of Mercedes, but BMW does styling best among the Germans.
As I said in the A8 thread, when you can't tell an A8 is not an A4 you have a problem. The Audi Tiguan's biggest issue is the Lincoln MKC which is stylistically quite similar that people won't want to pay German prices to drive around in something that looks like it came from a failed American brand.

As a Tiguan owner, I welcome a more upscale version. And it's not a simple rebadging, as the rear storage certainly looks larger than my car. And frankly, other than the option list improvements an Audi brings, my car can use just a little more space in the rear.

Nothing about it says upscale to me.

The Audi Q3 is coming to the U.S. at the end of 2014. Audi has already confirmed this and it should provide another HUGE boost to Audi's already surging U.S. sales. It is just like a mini Q5, a model that has been a huge seller for Audi in the U.S. market so I see no reason why the Q3 wouldn't have similar success.
