Audi Announces Move To Apple's CarPlay
Premium automaker Audi has announced via a press release that it will begin integrating Apple’s CarPlay platform into its vehicles. Audi, a majority-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, said Apple’s in-vehicle device integration system will be available in in the first Audi models starting in 2015.

“Our customers want to be ‘always on’ and use the services they know from their smartphones in cars as well,” noted Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at Audi AG.

Given that there was a strong push from them for OAA, this is going to be interesting. What would really be great is if it manifested itself as an entertainment unit that supports both formats. Though more realistically they'll (and I mean most manufacturers, not just Audi) will force you to choose which integration kit to get, and then to replace it will be something like $600-$700.
