Here is the post and video from the YouTuber Motorcyclist...

Nissan driver trying to kill me on Angeles Crest 6 28 14

Nissan Versa CA license plate: 6RFD873 tries to kill me by cutting me off and slamming on brakes multiple times. At the end, he passes two cars on the wrong side of the road with oncoming traffic.

Ya, that Nissan Versa is trying to screw around.

I mean, Versa. Really? Who the hell drives a Versa? That is like one of the worst cars in the entire world.

I hope the driver of the Nissan gets reamed

Starting from the first "incident", I would assume the guy in the Versa was not fond of the biker's attempt to pass him on the right. He follows up with what I would have to assume is a series of brake checks.

If I had to guess, the guy was intentionally brake checking the biker because he "felt" he was driving too close. Since I'm not the driver, I can't really "see" how close you are from his POV but I noticed that the brake checks occur whenever the gauges on the bike start to cover his Versa's bumper, so therefore he seems to consistently brake check the biker as he gets "close enough".

At about 1:15 the Versa driver seems annoyed by the slower moving vehicles in front of him and contemplates passing on the left but sees an oncoming car and scoots back over. At about 1:30 the Versa decides that he doesn't want to be cut off by the pickup truck driver (and possibly the biker?) since the right lane is coming to an end so he closes the gap there.

By the end of the video, the guy finally sees an oppurtunity to pull the stupid maneuver he wanted to do at 1:15, crossing the double yellows to pass the cars, and proceeds to speeding off into the sunset.

Passing on the right was not provocation. Notice that the guy on the motorcycle passed safely on the right and the guy in the Versa punches it to pass the motorcycle. The guy in the VERSA started it.

i look at all motorcycle drivers as speed demons, but as a guy who loves racing and speed I always let bikes pass me, why race those guys when you are in a car ??
a normal person should stop hating that bikes can pass in traffic and just let them pass, by doing what this guy did, he risked hitting the bike and killing the driver.
the versa driver, is a low life, gas saving twat. I for one, refuse to stay behind almost all 4cyl cars - they drive slow as hell and irritate me.

While I can agree with you about there being no sense trying to overtake motorcycles, I've seen on numerous occasions, muscle bikes with the fat tires, haul butt ahead of a bunch of cars and then reduce speed dramatically and just plod along. Meanwhile, all of the fast traffic catches up, and the bikes will wave off the cars for being too close as if they predicted the bike would puss out in the left lane on the highway. Either haul butt and move to a slow lane or stay where you're at.

I've ridden both motorcycles and cars for 30 years. The motorcyclist is driving very aggressive and too close to the Nissan's rear. It is a single lane road with double yellow therefore no need to ride the Nissan's rear like that. Also, is the blue light on the speedometer a high-beam indicator? Perhaps another reason the Nissan is driving in an agitated manor. When riding my motorcycle I always tell myself, "It doesn't matter who is right or wrong, if I hit a car I always lose." Live to ride another day...

This is a dumb thread. The biggest take-away I get, is that, BOY, they really need some rain in California! Its dry as a bone there.

Otherwise, typical adolescent-type motorcycle person (who slept too late) who is pissed that there is traffic on the road where s/he is riding. If the frustrated motorcylist wanted an empty road, they should have gotten up earlier and rode when traffic is lighter.

There is clearly too much traffic on the two-lane road for the style of driving the motorcyclist wants to puruse.

And yes, I ride a motorcycle too - I'm just a bit older and wiser.

People pass ALL THE TIME on the right when idiots in Nissan Versa's are left-lane bandits. The practice of "brake checking" is by definition unsafe driving. Putting on your brakes because you "feel" someone is too close is a sure recipe for causing a wreck.

If someone is following too closely, you move the the right which "pass me or slow down" you don't slam your brakes on this driver did numerous times. If he "felt" the guy on the motorcycle was "too close" he had ample opportunities to pull right and the the motorcycle go past.

When the guy on the bike pulled left to pass and the guy in the Versa swerves left into oncoming traffic you know for certain the guy in the Nissan is a moron with road rage.

The guy in the Versa was completely at fault and needs to suffer the consequences.

I don't want to generalize but more often than not, it's "most" bike riders who are D's and try to screw around with other vehicles on the road but in this case, it's definitely the car driver who is a D. How is the motorcyclist even being an idiot? I don't get it.

Yeah, I agree. Let's count the number of times the Versa driver slams the brake to the floor. If the Versa driver is the victim, then why is he driving like a D-bag? I always let motorcycles have their way. When he guns by the Versa at the start, that should have been the end of things. I hope the Versa driver's insurance drops his butt immediately. He'd soon be paying Camaro Z28 insurance rate for his wheezer Versa.

I agree that the Versa driver is a moron with no respect for human life, but both were making life changing mistakes. If I had been on the bike with it being my life at risk, I would have pulled over when I first realized that the Versa driver was wiling to risk my life to keep me behind him. I would have waited for 5 minutes and got back on the road with at least one less idiot trying to kill me.

It's obvious that the Versa driver didn't want to be passed, motorcycle or not. Passing on the right is pretty commonplace here in the US where rules do not require you to pull over to the right lane if you're not passing someone (unlike in Germany where unmarked police cars willpull you over and issue you a ticket if you don't comply). On more than one occasion I've had a driver of some second rate car try to speed up to keep me from passing, even though the car I was driving had over 400 hp. The motorcycle could have done the same. I really don't think that the Versa speeding up to keep him from passing was the most dangerous part. What was really unnecessary was the Versa driver stepping on his brakes so often. I would have passed that nut long ago if I were on a bike.
