CAR WARS! Is Porsche's Cayman Able To Extinguish The BMW M235i's Flame? Will Practicality Prevail, Again?

It's been an interesting month in the automotive world, particularly if you follow BMW and Porsche. The M235i and all-new M4 have been making extremely significant moves and racking up remarkable accolades.

Consumer Reports ranked the M235i as the BEST Bavarian ever. Having driven most of the blue and white fleet, I find that incredibly hard to believe as that was not my experience. Abroad, the M135i has also earned itself a tremendous amount of praise from just about every angle. To be honest, I don't think I've seen anyone really contest the M135 and M235i.

So, I am curious to see how the M235i shakes out against the likes of Porsche's base Cayman. Yes, it's on track. Yes, we're looking at two products that are not straight away competitors.

But at the end of the day, who gets the nod? WHICH would YOU want in your driveway, and WHY?

they say its an easy win for the cayman, i dont really think so. its 1 full second faster than the bmw, but if you need 4 seats, and dont have 65k to spend a loaded m235i i think is much better along with free maintenance and at least 10k cheaper fully loaded.
of course i would take the cayman over the bmw if $ wasnt an object or if they were the same price as i think the cayman looks a lot nicer.

Different tools for different purposes. Both are excellent and best within their respective classes

I don't like either design that much, but I'd take the BMW if a gun were put to my head.
