I can see it now. Agent 001 is rejoicing at the thought of a Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class "Shooting Brake." If any of you read 001's post this week, you'd immediately understand I am being very sarcastic.

Although the GLA-Class entry-level luxury sport-utility vehicle has yet to launch in the States, it seems that Mercedes-Benz is feeling pretty confident about expanding the CLA-Class nameplate into the wagon area. Considering sales of the new entry-level three-pointed star have been strong, we can't blame them. We just would think that it would need a firmer business case plus visibility into how GLA sales are doing before pulling the trigger.

On the other hand, we can't say with certainty if this new Shooting Brake will come here. Mercedes has exercised restraint in the past with models like the CLS Shooting Brake.


...Mercedes has officially announced that an estate version of the CLA will be launched in 2015, called the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake. Although we’ve previously seen the CLA Shooting Brake under test in various spy shots, this is the first time Mercedes has publicly admitted that it is bringing the car to market.
 
Confirmed at the reveal of the facelifted Mercedes CLS and CLS Shooting Brake, Mercedes said that it will add the CLA Shooting Brake to its model portfolio in 2015...

I currently drive an Audi A4 Avant and have leased A6 Avants and an Allroad. So I obviously like sport wagons. But -- I'm probably one of four people in the United States who do. So If you decide to bring the the CLA Shooting Brake over here, MB, just don't expect too many takers.
