After Creating The Segment With The RX, Is There Still Room In The Market For The NX?
Sixteen years ago, Lexus set the industry on its ear when it introduced the first car-based luxury crossover, the RX 300. Lexus had modest sales expectations for the RX, but the vehicle quickly became the brand's volume leader with annual sales routinely near or north of 100,000 units.

Now, with scads of RX imitators clogging America's roads, Lexus is trying the same play in the compact luxury crossover segment with the NX 200t and NX 300h.

It'll sell really well. I think it's not a bad looking vehicle, especially for a luxury CUV. As long as they price it properly, it'll serve well as an aspirational model that should more than hold its own against Q3, GLA, Evoque, etc. for people that want something of a reliable car in the segment. And like the RX, I expect it to appeal strongly to women. More so than some of the competition.

This will fly out of the dealers and will not affect the RX in any way. I'd buy the Lincoln MKC because I think it is a lot nicer looking. Basically it comes down to Lexus RAV4 or Lincoln Escape. I'll take the Lincoln.

say what you want, I saw this at the ny auto show, and it will be a HUGE success, i wont be surprised if it eats into rx350 sales.

The side profile and rear look pretty good, but the front end ruins it, looks like a teenager designed it, goofy. It will probably sell as much as the RX, if not more.
