Veloster Future Up In The Air Amid Sluggish Global Sales
HYUNDAI is debating whether to continue with the divisive Veloster three-door coupe/hatch line after the facelifted model arrives sometime within the next year or so.

While Australia is one of the more popular destinations for the distinctive small car, sales have not lived up to expectations in key overseas markets including South Korea, the United States and Europe.

Only about 60,000 units were sold worldwide last year – its second full year of availability – with fewer than 3000 examples finding buyers in the domestic market.

The Veloster is better looking in person but not by much. Time to resurrect the Tiburon name for the Accent sports coupe variant and get someone to do the chassis tuning for them.

Yawn. Tell us something we didn't already know 2 years ago. Where others are offering real sports cars (Camaro, Mustang, FR-S/BRZ, Accord Coupes and the Germans) , Hyundai brings a 3rd door, low price and @ss ugly styling and call it the Velosturd.

Then again it outsold the BRSFRS by 10K units and for marketing they are considered the same segment.

The FR-S starts at $25K, the Velosturd at $18K. Americans are cheap by nature, of course they'll by more if something costs less.
