With Or Without Toyota, Subaru Commits To A Second Generation BRZ
Late last month, there was a rumor going around claiming Subaru’s BRZ may end up being a one-generation wonder. The reason was that Toyota, who co-developed the BRZ and GT86/FR-S twins, began a new sports car alliance with BMW that will hopefully see a reborn Supra. Simply put, Toyota may drop Subaru in favor of BMW. If that were to happen, a second-generation BRZ would be unlikely. However, Subaru has been quick to clarify its position on this one.

The fact that Subaru developed it is the issue. Subaru had ZERO expertise in RWD sports cars and they produced a very lackluster result. Toyota/BMW is the ticket. Toyota should have developed the GT86 instead of pushing it off on a company that had no ability to do it right.

I agree that it isn't probably as good as it would have been if Toyota had done the development itself but it's still more fun than anything else in the size/weight/price category! i have 15k on mine and still love it. I have zero brand loyalty and await someone coming out with a competitor that's better. Don't see anything on the radar yet. Everything else is 3500 lbs or more and they all feel like it.
