FIRST REAL-LIFE Shots Of The 2015 Nissan Murano Outside Of An Auto Show — Has YOUR Opinion Changed NOW?
It was only months ago that Nissan unveiled the 2015 Murano to the public at the 2014 New York Auto Show. After spending two days walking the floor and soaking it all in, to us it was clear this was the top, all-new debut at the event.
This seemed to baffle many of the Spies here, but we still stand by our choice.
2015 Nissan Full Product Line Updates
Remember when we told you how we thought the Jeep Cherokee was a great product and we thought it was set up to be a hit? Everyone balked but look at it now — it's selling great and earning accolades. We expect the same thing here.
Agent 001 spent this week in Tennessee with Nissan as they had him in town to scope out the company's 2015 product portfolio and see ALL the updates. We took this opportunity to snap the first real-life shots of the 2015 Murano out in a natural habitat. The harsh lighting and rotating table of an auto show are a bit awkward.
Though we don't think many of you would considering plopping down $18 million for the house in ABC's "Nashville," we do think it makes a helluva nice backdrop for Nissan's all-new SUV. Make sure to take another look at the Murano inside and out and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

i think its bold just as the infiniti fx35 was when it first came out, i also think this car is a hit or miss, some will love it, some hate, i personally like it.

Agreed, its a bold design and will surely dip into the Lexus NX pool of prospective buyers
I gotta say Nissan/Infiniti has always done a great job of doing their own thing and coming out with unique designs

I'd consider the Murano before the Lexus NX. It'll be cheaper, and, frankly, it pulls off the origami-gone-haywire better. And I think the interior just looks incredible for this class of car (of course, not knowing the material quality).
That being said, I still loathe Nissan's boomerang headlights and taillights, and the candy-cane design of the taillights here needs to go.

Agree with Cid... I wonder what the designer was smoking, injecting and popping during the design of this car. Origami gone haywire is a good description. Suppose they should be praised for original design but its actually hard to look at this thing... at least first thing in the morning. There are just so many curves an swooshes.... WWaaaaaayyyy over done in my opinion. Its "too" much... that said, its a runaway hit... go figure as beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Confused at why anyone would be cross-shopping a Lexus with a Nissan, with an Infiniti yes but not a Nissan. No way you guys would consider a Touareg vs. a Mercedes ML, or maybe you would.

I like it all except the bizarre taillights and the light wood with the beige interior

Why have all the Asian manufacturers decided it was a good look to have the light lenses (both front and rear) bulge so far away from the flow of the body? I've seen some that you could set a can on, they jut out so far and are so flat (Toyota, I'm talking to you).
I know appearance is subjective, but it just looks really bad to me. I like when the body panels flow smoothly, without sudden directional changes. Oh well, my opinion only has value to me, so they do what they feel works best. Just doesn't work for me.

The bulging lenses are a result of studies in aerodynamics.

I m sure some industry expert here (I won't mention any names) can tell us why new, polarizing designs from manufacturers are always shown in this rust color? I am sure there is some science behind it but, imagine the Murano in black...I am sure it is much more appealing.

We were told back in 2010/2011 by Adrian von Hooydonk from BMW that the next big color would be browns and beiges, which I am sure has morphed into oranges and reds.
Just hazarding a guess.

The Morono is an ugly, misshapen vehicle. It looks like it was styled by the lower colon of Renault.

For where is the new generation Titan? Has Nisan called it quits on the full size truck market?

I would say that would be wise given how poorly the Titan sold and just how mediocre it was as a truck.

As bizarre looking as the Murano is, it's still way better looking and better thought out than the Lexus NX that looks like someone's worst origami nightmare gone real sour.

It is unbelievable the capability of the asian designers to outdo themselves. This vehicle is undoubtedly the Pinnacle of Bad Taste inside and out. Thank GOD for the German and Italian designers.

To Agent00R...in response to the 'orange/brown' comment. I am specifically speaking new how new models are always introduced in this rust/orange tone. Infiniti did it back in 2003 with the FX. When the Scion FRS was first being shown, it was in this orange color. The same happens at auto shows...so this has been going on for the past 10 years or more.
