RUMOR MILL: Cadillac Poised To Hire Johan de Nysschen After Departure From Infiniti
General Motors plans to hire Johan de Nysschen, the former U.S. Audi boss who is leaving Nissan’s Infiniti, to lead global Cadillac sales, two people familiar with GM’s plans said.

The announcement may come as soon as today, the sources said.

De Nysschen would fill the post vacated yesterday by Bob Ferguson, who’s returning to his previous position as the automaker’s top government lobbyist, effective immediately.

Since mid-March, Ferguson has been spending most of his time in Washington, helping steer GM’s response to its ignition switch recall.

If Cadillac is serious about change then this is the man. Infiniti was not serious IMHO.

Why is HELL would this make sense to GM? Infiniti is a steaming pile of excrement because of this man and is totally irrelevant to the premium luxury market. What's next? Hiring Max Wolff back to screw Cadillac over like he's screwed Lincoln?

Completely disagree with you Matt. This is the guy that put Audi into ship shape. When he left for Infiniti I thought it was a coup, but you're right, Infiniti sux...competent mechanicals but the styling is junk, plus there is no heritage. At least Cadillac has a legacy of once being great. The new line up is world class in styling, design, mechanicals and especially commitment. If this is true, I think this is huge for GM and Cadillac. A very powerful sign that Cadillac is back and striving for the crown. The guy is no BS, lets get it done....

Nysschen was the driving force behind Audi. The moves speaks volumes about where Infiniti is heading (can you hear the flush?).

If Mary Barra is serious about changing Cadillac, then she has the right man to do it.
