DRIVEN + VIDEO: Is The 2015 Subaru WRX STI The MOST Technically Specialized Car UNDER $40K? Most Thorough Review Yet!
Although I've put requests into Subaru to drive the all-new 2015 WRX and 2015 WRX STI, it seems like they can't seem to get me behind the wheel. Though just about everyone has had some wheel time, they're unable to make it work with me.
Are they scared? Perhaps. Though I think that would be pretty silly considering I've been pretty positive about the Japanese automaker's latest sporting product.
Considering the extreme amount of interest for the car on AutoSpies, this is pretty frustrating for me, to say the least. The good news is that the vehicle has finally gotten into the capable hands of a good reviewer. Brian Cooley of CNET is one of our personal favorites as he is thorough and doesn't mind putting his neck on the line.
Until we get our chance, this will have to suffice.
**Check out the 2015 Subaru WRX STI review in the cilp below!
The new WRX STI may be the most technically capable car in the world that you can (probably) afford. Car theft is on the decline thanks to technology, and we explain the mystical science of limited-slip differentials.

Although I'm no fan of the Super Beetle engine, I have to admit that the WRX STI is simply the best sedan at its price point. With Mitsubishi giving up to sell Renault rejected garbage built by Samsung, there simply is no vehicle at this price point that gives this much performance with bulletproof reliability.
Ford needs an AWD Focus RS. VW needs an AWD Jetta R VR6. I've said that a great product for Lincoln would be to do a "Focus RS AWD" with a new design language and a NAME to battle the WRX STI. That would be a sign of life from Lincoln.

Agree but its a little too "boy racer" (for my taste) and they need to put a little more money in the interior, awesome performance though.

...because it is supposed to be a boy racer. Did you think an STI is supposed to be an M3? M3 is for old people, but STI is for the young people in general.

@USNA1999 ignore the 12 year old calling himself JDMUSMuscle. Subaru has an opportunity to make the WRX STI more sophisticated and leave the import tuner boy racer image behind for a lucrative market picking off the low hanging BMW/Audi/Mercedes fruit. Import tuner boys can still get the $40K for a WRX from their middle aged "manfriend" benefactors anyway.

Matt, don't get all mad on me just because I no longer support the American automakers in general. You were one of my loyal lapdogs back then, even leaving comments the way I do. And I can tell you are mad now.
But really, you should grow up. I never hate the American automobiles, and I am only here to tell the truth to people. Ok, son? ;)

CNET, really . . . ?!?
CNET is not even a credible source for reviews on electronics, let alone vehicle reviews.

Completely disagree with you, but, hey that's why we have comments.

@MorePower I agree only people stuck in the 90s pay any attention to CNET...

40k is still a lot of $ for young people, i think 40k is a lot of money and should get you a better interior than what sti offers, other than interior, i love sti. if they make it look like the concept, id get one.

The comments stated on the video about the DCCD settings are wrong. Auto+ is for stability and Auto- is more about performance to help rotate the car because the power goes the rear more often. In the manual settings, I usually set it with only one bar which is more power in the rear to help steer the car on power. The lock setting is more for stable safe driving.

I think they could appeal to more buyers with the same car just by offering a choice of rear deck options. Offer the basket handle for the younger crowd and maybe had a smaller rear deck spoiler for those of us that like the car but don't want the attention from the cops that the basket handle would bring and it would be a benefit that could increase overall sales.
