2016 CTS-V Caught Testing At Nurburgring. - Who Should Worry?

2016 CTS-V Caught Testing At Nurburgring. - Who Should Worry?

Chrysler may have stolen the muscle car show these days with its Challenger Hellcat and spied Charger Hellcat, but we mustn’t forget GM is working on some new firepower of its own. We’re referring to the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, which has now landed at the Nurburgring.

A pair of 2016 CTS-V prototypes were spied walking their heavily camouflaged bodies in the proximity of the Green Hell, with the actual bashing set to kick off tomorrow. Seeing the CTS-V at the Nordschleife is as natural as possible, given the fact that the now old CTS-V was quite a handler.

The good news: the last CTS-V was a wonderful drive so this should be that much better. The bad news: Cadillac is way too slow to market with this product. The CTS-V and ATS-V should have been in showrooms by now. 2016 should be the introduction of a Cadillac coupesedan to battle the Mercedes CLS.

Completely agree... they need to step up the product launches...this way they have more product in the showrooms, more offerings vs this staggered setup. Certainly the ATS-V should already be here, and the CTS will be a year old by the time this gets here... That said, at least these exciting products are in the pipeline. I'll give GM & Cadillac the recognition they really deserve, these are truly world class products.

Oh I didn't notice you were here.

By the way, my friend. I went outside today, and it was almost unbelievable. Everyone was driving a Ford pick up truck, like, all of them. Can you believe that? I know you do.

Well, it is the number one selling vehicle. I saw many of them today too. Considerably more than bmw's, Lexus, and Mercedes combined. Numbers don't lie.

Many of them? No no, not "many". All cars were Ford pick up trucks.

By the way, you know that website Celebrity car blog? I noticed they have celebrities driving Bentleys, Rolls and such, but really, don't you think that is a photoshop?

Because someone with the IQ of 195 once told me that the rich people only drive Ford pick up trucks. I believe him, because after seeing only Ford pick up trucks outside here, I bet that is the only thing rich people drive, too! I mean Ford F-150 is the most luxurious truck that every kid dreams of owning, too, right? No one is jealous of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Porsche, Ferrari and such, but we all know everyone is jealous of people who owns a Ford F-150!

I mean, I am pretty sure everyone would agree with me here. I know you would!

Let me put it to you another way. Most celebs are complete idiots. Most rich business people, docs, lawyers, etc... Get there by actually using their brain. You continue to point to celeb car blogs as if it's some know all tell all regarding the 1%. In that space of 1%, there are a lot of people. Do you think they all drive rolls, Bentley, and such? It just isn't possible. The numbers don't add up. There is also a segment of the population and let's call them 3%ers. They are also wealthy and carry a great portion of the buying power in America. So... Let's take all these wealthy people. Let's add up the number of rolls, Bentley, Lamborghini, and such. The numbers of vehicles sold don't even hold a candle to the population figures. There are many wealthy that make smart purchases. Your argument is so hollow it isn't even funny. Not only that, you are putting words in my mouth now. My statement to you was... More millionaires own f 1-150s than any other car. It isn't an outlandish statement. The sales figures support it and the number if lux trucks sold today also support it. There are more wealthy land owners, oil people, farmers, business owners, etc... than there are celebrities. I'm guessing you failed statistics in college.

Oh and one more thing... Who says said f-150 is the only vehicle they own? I own several vehicles and I'm far from a multi millionaire.

I can see just as I thought, you are as dumb as I thought you were.

When was my argument about "all rich people buying Rolls, Bentley, etc"?

When was my argument about "1% of population buying all those super lux European hypercars"?

My argument was mainly about the fact that the people wish to own something European in general, no matter how much money they have, may they be the 1% or the middle class families.

And let me ask you, why do many people in the U.S. drive Ford pick up trucks? For work, or simply to show patriotism.

And just to clarify, my argument was not just about the U.S. but the entire world in general.

I mean, I already know your IQ is lower than a trash can, but really, all you talk about is "Ohhh Ford pick up trucks sell tons!! Meaning that is everyone's dream car!!" No one was talking about "sales number" here, my main argument was more about the way the people see things. And no one was talking only about the U.S.

Or what is it, do all the millionaires in the world drive Ford pick up trucks, too? I bet you believe this, it's so laughable.

You really are an idiot, it is just so amusing. lol!!!

"Hi this is JDMUSMuscle and everyone knows Cadillac is total garbage that cannot hold a candle to the vastly superior Japanese products like he amazing Nissan Versa sedan and the Mitsubishi Mirage which are so much more refined and luxurious than this Chevrolet with a Cadillac badge."

Hello Matty, still upset about the fact that I no longer blatantly support the American automakers on the comments? I'm really sorry. And I remember you as a good lapdog of mine, talking just the way I do back then.

But that does not mean I "hate" the American automakers as I have stated before. So really, you can drop your anger towards me now. Or how about it, if I started saying all the good things about the American automakers again, will you act as a lapdog again? Most likely that is your wish, is it not? I mean, why else would "you" be talking about "me", when "no one" here is talking about me? ;) You are a funny kid, Matty

The word "towards" does not have an "s" anymore in British Standard English (which used the "s" but ditched it about 10 years ago) or American Standard English (which never used the "s").

And I know why you brought up Mirage and Versa, because you know the Americans can never build a car that can compete with Evo, STi, GT-R, 370Z, etc.

Matty, I know how you feel. I feel your inferiority complex. But do not be discouraged, the Americans will one day build an ok car I think.

It doesn't really matter if they ditched it or not. I use it because I want to.

GM is spending less than 20 million dollars on R&D of Chevy Volt, how much do you think they are spending on this model that no one really buys? Not to mention GM almost bankrupted, and is from a bankrupt city that is from a country with seriously bad economy.

And now thanks to Ignition switch problems, GM is losing even more money than they should be.

And the most laughable part, this car will most likely not sell, just like the previous model.

And now you might just wonder yourself why the American automakers even try still, when even the Americans themselves have lost faith in the American automakers ;)

Of the contenders in the market segment the CTS-V would fall, NONE of its competitors have to worry because they(Audi, BMW, MB) have set the benchmarks in their respective categories: Audi has interiors and awd, BMW has handling while MB has its Dodge sourced V8 sound with AMG engineering.

I think really and truly only Cadillac needs to worry because even if this is a stellar car (and I expect it to be), it is likely to sticker in the mid-to-high $80000s and while performance-wise it will match $115000 European sedans, that is still asking a lot for a Cadillac right now. I'm not saying it is too much per se, in fact for the monster power train and Cadillac luxury and GM quality (nowhere near Lexus but superior to German and English and we all know it) it is pretty great, but it could still end up selling slower than GM would like.

Hopefully it does well -- I think it deserves it, even if I personally find the new CTS more boring-looking than the previous version from all angles besides the front.

Between this and the new RCF, a lot of auto manufacturers should be worried. If the CTS-V shares some of the new Corvettes technology, this will be an awesome car and as long as they keep the price under control it will be very competitive.
